Yurakucho Abscess

You saw this while still exploring the previous areas, but there is another Abscess that is blocking out a good portion of the map, so as before, you’re going to ignore everything else at first. From the Leyline, head northeast a little bit to see a path on the other side of the building, then cross the building that is acting like a bridge (there will be a Muu Shuwuu NPC here). At the end of the building, you will want to jump over the fence and onto the road there. Once you’re on the road, follow it east to where the path becomes dirt, then look to the north to spy a hill going down.

(1 of 2) Jump off of this building here, onto the highway

Jump off of this building here, onto the highway (left), Go down this hill and in between the two buildings ahead (right)

Slide down the hill and head in between the two buildings here, following this trail to a little area with a slanted building. As you run up that slanted building, you should see the Abscess at the end there, so run/fight your way to it to begin the fight.

Icon Name Lv Weakness

SMT_V_Anzu_Icon.jpg Anzu 41 Force_Icon_Shin_Megami_Tensei_V.png

You will be pitted against two enemies here in this Abscess battle, a Mishaguji and an Anzu. Both are weak to Force, while the Mishaguji has an additional weakness of Light. Likewise, both block Electric attacks, while Mishaguji will also block Dark. Of the two enemies here, you will probably want to take out the Mishaguji first, as it knows both Mamudoon and Matarunda. Of course, you will not want anyone weak to Dark here, since Mamudoon has a chance to instakill them if they are. Despite having a magic attack, the Mishaguji’s stats seem more geared towards physical attacks, so its Mamudoon shouldn’t be too much of a threat, overall.

You will be facing two enemies in this Abscess battle

The Anzu, on the other hand, is also geared towards physical attacks and has two of them in his skillset. Damascus Claw hits two-three times against a single target, while Steel Needle can hit anywhere from one-to-four times against a single target, with the added high chance of critical hits. That might actually make the Anzu a bigger priority, since he can really put a hurting on the party. Anzu also knows Zionga, so you will probably not want anyone weak to Electric in your group. No matter which one you pick first, focus on that target until they go down, then switch to the other one.

Sukiyabashi and Yurakucho Exploration

After destroying the Abscess, go ahead and teleport back to the Sukiyabashi Leyline. Right next to it is a Dionysus, who can give you the A Sobering Standoff quest. Note that this is mutually exclusive with Black Frost Strikes Back, so you can only do one of the two. It is highest suggested that you pick the latter of the two listed here, as you will have Black Frost join your party and he’s the better of the two demons. Whatever you do there, get on that one building acting a bridge, with the Muu Shuwuu NPC, and you should notice another NPC underneath the highway with a quest icon over its head.

(1 of 2) Amalgam #20 is on the corner of this rooftop that you can access from under the highway

Amalgam #20 is on the corner of this rooftop that you can access from under the highway (left), Miman #108 will be on a lower rooftop near the Amalgam (right)

This will be the Stones of Malice quest and it will ask for 2 Poison Gems. You probably have some at this point, but if not, then you will have to farm them from either Black Oozes or Basilisks (or just hope you get some from a Navigator’s random treasure). If you go under the highway and follow the path past some climbing blocks, you will eventually find the rooftop of a building, where there will be Amalgam #20. While still on the same rooftop, go to the corner opposite of the Amalgam and look over to see some ruins below you, which will be housing Miman #108. Jump down to grab it, then drop down next to it to find some vending machines on ground level.

Sneak past the pack of Narcissus, then head to the opposite end of the climbing blocks to find more vending machines. Climb the blocks now and you will be right by the Eligor NPC, near the Sukiyabashi Leyline. Double back to the building acting as a bridge and jump over the fence, onto the highway this time. On the western end of the highway is a dead end, where you’ll find a Muu Shuwuu’s Essence inside it. Head to the other end of the highway, where you initially went when trying for the Abscess earlier, and start going down that hill. About halfway down, there will be an alcove on the side, where you find a Treasure Box (Grimoire x2).

Back in the main area, you should be right before passing into the final area leading to the Abscess. Instead of crossing into that area, head into the open area opposite of it, where you see some Valkyrie roaming and some Muu Shuwuu flying overhead. At the very end of this path, you will find another Treasure Box, this one containing a Black Frost’s Essence. Return to the hill you went down to get to this area and go back to the top of it. There is another path at the end of the highway, leading to another rooftop. The Muu Shuwuu you saw flying overhead before will be closer on this rooftop, as they fly by it. If you check the corner of the roof, behind the white boxes, you will discover Miman #109.

(1 of 4) Look behind the white boxes on the rooftop before the cutscene with Abdiel for Miman #109

Cross the building beyond the rooftop and you will trigger a cutscene with Ichiro Dazai and Abdiel. Once it’s over, you will be in a small area with a bunch of dead trees. Ignore the path with the Magatsuhi orbs and instead, find the one that brings you down to a little area with another Treasure Box (Aogami Type-6 Essence). The Nahobino unique skill on this one is called Divine Arrowfall, which is a heavy Almighty attack on all enemies. Double back and head down the other path, which leads you to Demon Statue #10 - Daemon. You should also see Hayataro near a climbing block, who doesn’t really say anything important. In a little ditch between the buildings, you will find Miman #110, and behind the white boxes near Hayataro, will be Miman #111. As you can clearly see, you are right on the edge of another Abscess, with the nearby climbing block leading you into the next area.
