Tips¶
It’s not long until you’re a Master, but the Challenges only get more in number.
You should be used to the heat now, after fishing in Port Puerto and the Lava Cave, so the Drysand Desert shouldn’t faze you. Here, you can reel in fish from the quicksand towards the east side, between the path to the Ancient Ruins and the oasis campsite.
Of note, there’s a giant whirlpool of sand across the wooden pier, which occasionally houses the Bass of Darkness , and a school of sandfish a little ways to the north east, which is a bit harder to see.
If you’re looking for Black Bass and the Evil Carp , you want to go back to the Al Maajik Outskirts , which is the first area of Al Maajik, coming from the Desertward Ravine and before entering the desert. There are fish spots near the central stepping stones and the south bank.
From the south bank, you can catch a ferry to Cacto Cove too in your search for the rare Parasol Fish . However passage is barred until you’ve completed the Al Maajik Story Quest and recruited Magnificus.
Then things get a bit chilly as you head up to the freezing summit of Mt. Snowpeak . For reference, you don’t need to do any climbing; simply speak to the Guide Paladin standing by the entrance to the mountain to be instantly taken to the summit.
There’s only one fishing spot here, near the middle of the summit, so you can either fish for the common and rare fish or fish for the Lordfish, the Coldwater Tuna . Then skip ahead to the next day and come back to see what’s new on the menu.
Finally, to reach the Deepsea Cave , make your way to the south-west corner of Tortuga Archipelago and follow the highland path around to the beach. If the Deep Sea Lordfish is present, it’ll be swimming on the left side of the northern pool.
