Flutter’s Aftercare wings its way to Al Maajik, to check up on everyone after your “epic battle” with the Dark Sultan.
To make travel easier, you can now select Al Maajik as a destination from the airport in West Castele.
Furthermore, daredevil adventurers will be pleased to know that the road to the Ancient Ruins is now open. Continue north-east from Drysand Desert to reach this labyrinth chock-full with dangerous monsters.
Friends with the Sultan¶
It’s a rather long walk to the Dark Sultan’s Fortress , even after booking a flight from the Castele airport, but you’ve got to do it eventually.
To save a little more time, instead of heading straight into the Sandtown upon arrival in Al Maajik, continue east towards the magic sphere and enter it. You’ll be instantly transported to the Spelltown , opposite the bridge to the fortress.
As you might guess, Daemon is waiting in his throne room, atop the fortress. Sadly, he won’t join your party just yet, but he does give you a Bat Cape as thanks.
Honour and Friendship¶
Odin the Shadow Knight is guarding the entrance to the Al Maajik Bridge, towards the north of the Al Maajik Spelltown .
Don’t be afraid of his intimidating appearance; speak to him and he’ll graciously allow you to invite him to your party.
You can find him with Daemon at the Sultan’s Throne Room no matter the time of day. At night, he’s even playing with Daemon’s pet dog (or hell hound?) Cerberus.
If we weren’t being clear before, Odin is one of the better NPC allies by far, so definitely don’t hesitate to drag him along to the tougher boss battles.
Easy Come, Easy Go¶
You’ll find Magnificus just outside the Dark Sultan’s Fortress, pondering his next plan of action, which is to vanquish the Dark Sultan, naturally.
Before he’s ready to challenge the Sultan though, Magnificus suggests visiting the nearby Cacto Cove to train and even lets you invite him into your party.
Night or day, Magnificus will be standing exactly where he is now, in front of the fortress. Well, you can’t fault his enthusiasm…
To access Cacto Cove, head towards the south of the Al Maajik Outskirts (the first area you enter coming from the Desertward Ravine). By the south bank, there’s a ferry that will transport you for a small fee.
Of Magic and Flowers¶
The Prior Dark Sultan is chilling in the Garden of Shadow , located beyond the portrait at the far end of the hall, immediately after entering the Dark Sultan’s Fortress.
As a reward for visiting, you will be given an Enchanted Wall and Cursed Floor . Plus a lot of teasing about future events… Hey, no spoilers!
Maajikal Library¶
To sate Flutter’s curiousity for books, you have to visit the Al Maajik Library of Magic , which is immediately in front of you when you enter the Al Maajik Spelltown from the Sandtown.
There, you’ll bump into Daemon’s mother who hands you a Dark Sultan’s Lamp to help you read in the dark. Because all Dark Sultans do that, presumably.
If you’re curious, you can inspect the many bookshelves to learn a little more about Reveria yourself. Knowledge is power!
Holiday Home: Al Maajik¶
There’s a holiday home in Al Maajik too, located on the west side of the Al Maajik Spelltown , between Esmerelda’s Academy of Magic and Miguel’s residence.
Eldred the former Dark Mage is waiting for you there, ready to fill you in with the nitty-gritty details. You’ll also receive a Portrait of Daemon to avoid returning home empty-handed.
This holiday home is… considerably more expensive that the last one, costing 100,000 Dosh. However it’s a good investment if you want more space or see yourself returning to Al Maajik often.
