Tips¶
The road to godhood shouldn’t have been too rocky, but the Miner’s Life doesn’t quite end just by reaching God Rank.
Take the time to visit Duglas back in East Castele and he will give you the Miner’s Special Request, as well as allow you to invite him into your excavation party.
For this final challenge, you must mine a Golem Stone in the depths of Mt. Snowpeak’s Lava Cave and bring back its Golem Fragment to Duglas. You can find the Golem Stone in the south-west corner of the Lava Cave, where the Blaze Wraith is usually found.
It’s a fairly long trek, so to avoid coming back disappointed, ensure your Mining stat is the highest you can possibly achieve. You want your Strength and at least one of Vitality and Focus maxed out at 100, as well as the best Pick Axe–ideally a divine-quality Spirit Axe.
To further improve your odds, add one of the following when crafting: Dark Stone for Special Deposit Damage+, Divine Stone for Sweet Spot Damage+ or Soul Stone(+) for Tool Power+. Plus a God material to make it divine-quality and enhance the additional effect.
Lastly, bring along two combat-based allies as you must defeat a mini-boss to safely reach the Golem Stone. The boss isn’t even half as strong as the Special Request bosses for the four combat Lives, but still a tough nut to crack for a Miner.
When you reach the Golem Stone’s location, you’ll discover you must defeat a Fortoise before you can mine the stone itself.
This fiery Crocturtle may retract its head and then spit out small fireballs at a mid-distance or slam its head forward, creating waves of fire a short distance ahead.
For its special move, it will breathe fire from its nostrils, before hiding inside its shell and then stomping forward to inflict heavy damage. This attack also creates small, damaging pools of fire nearby (slightly difficult to see because of the surroundings).
This battle wouldn’t be so hard if it wasn’t for the absolutely tiny arena, which makes avoiding attacks a real pain. If necessary, don’t be afraid to go around the Golem Stone to reach the Fortoise’s back–it will take longer, but at least it’s safer.
When the coast is clear, it’s time to see if you’re worthy of the God Miner’s name. As we warned you earlier, the Golem Stone is by far the toughest deposit in the game and will require an extremely high Mining stat and excellent equipment to cause a noticeable dent.
The most important thing is causing high enough damage; if your damage isn’t up to par, not even your God skill will save the day. But if your damage is sufficient, you should have a field day, between your overpowering God and Special skills.
