Tips¶
The road to Paladin godhood is actually… not too difficult.
For the most part, you’re asked to defeat common monsters wandering around the various zones of Origin Island. Well, the monsters are stronger than the ones in Reveria, but you should have the experience to handle them if you got this far.
Once you get to the boss at the end, things really start to heat up. To find the Ancient Dragon , follow the path north-east from the Forest Shrine’s central plaza.
Upon first glance, it’s yet another Napdragon variant, but because it’s a DLC-exclusive boss, it has a few extra tricks up its sleeve.
For starters, it’s jaw chomp move inflicts Stun, which is a nasty ailment to have, rendering you immobile every few seconds and preventing you from using items. If you can, equip armour with Stun resistance/immunity or bring an ally who can cure status like Yuelia.
Secondly, unlike previous Napdragons, the Ancient Dragon’s head is solid and harder to manouvere around. It doesn’t help that the arena is fairly small and the Ancient Dragon moves and attacks at a faster pace than the other dragons.
In addition to its dragon breath attack, which now covers a wider and longer, fan-shaped area, the Ancient Dragon will occasionally float up, then create a cross-shaped shockwave when it lands.
Finally, once its HP goes below half, it will roar in the sky, before stampeding forward, while surrounded by dangerous shockwaves. If you’re confident, you can attack the dragon to try and interrupt it; otherwise, run far, far away.
The easiest way to tackle this dragon, like the previous ones, is to keep circling, preferably sticking close–but not too close–to its side so you can avoid its cross-shaped shockwave.
Don’t forget to call on powerful allies if you need a hand; Ophelia is always a good ally to have at any stage of the game.
