Where to Find¶
Rock Salt can be purchased from shops or obtained as a common drop from regular ore deposits.
When you need Rock Salt urgently, try visiting the general stores at Zora’s Domain, Goron City and/or Gerudo Town. A lump of Rock Salt costs 12 rupees apiece and there are 4, 3 and 2 available from the respective shops.
Besides searching the shopping aisles, Rock Salt can be obtained by mining the common ore deposits found all across Hyrule–mainly wherever there’s hills or mountains (so less likely in Gerudo Desert, Central Hyrule and the Great Hyrule Forest).
More precisely, there’s a 32% chance of Rock Salt dropping.
If you want some suggestions, look for a cave directly south of Mount Floria. It’s on the south side of a tall square-shaped mountain surrounded by water, with three trees at the top.
Use a bomb to block up the cracked boulders blocking the entrance. Inside, there are 7 ore deposits and 1 rare deposit on the ceiling. You can blow these up with Bomb Arrows or throw a hefty weapon at them.
Similarly, there’s a cave north-east of Lurelin Village, along the south side of the elongated highlands containing Mount Dunsel and Cape Cales. It’s accessible via the body of water west of Palmorae Ruins and north of Gama Cove.
Another good place to search is around Skull Lake in Deep Akkala. Fast-travel to the Zuna Kai Shrine, then glide west. There are a bunch of ore deposits dotted around the cliffs.
