This is a boss floor where you must defeat a Stone Talus. There are some trees near the four corners, but otherwise nowhere to hide.
Strategy¶
The difficulty of this floor depends on how much experience you have fighting Stone Talus. As a reminder, these rocky monsters are slow, but pack a hefty punch with their arms. They can also launch their arms towards you, with surprising accuracy.
If you explore the corners of the floor, you can find some bomb barrels and metal crates. But honestly we couldn’t find a use for them that could save time versus fighting the Talus normally.

The Talus will awaken when you’re somewhat close to it. As soon as the Talus starts to get up, that’s a good opportunity to jump on top of it. We recommend applying Stasis on it, so you’ve got plenty of time to get up.
Once you’re atop the Talus, grab a two-handed club like a Spiked Boko Bat, then perform a spinning attack aimed at the ore deposit, which is the Talus’s weak spot. Depending on how much stamina you have, you can do this for quite a long time. But it’s a good idea to stop prematurely or the Talus may throw you off.

When you’re on the ground, the Talus will try to attack primarily by throwing its rocky arms at you. These arms are big and, as mentioned, the Talus is good at aiming. So if you’re going to dodge them, run or find a tree to hide behind. You can stop the Talus from attacking by blowing up its arms using your bombs.
Once the Talus has lost one or both of its arms (either by throwing them or because you blew them up), the Talus will slam its body down forward to dig up a new arm, then rise back up. You don’t want to be standing in front of the Talus; get behind or to the sides.

When the Talus is kneeling, that’s your chance to climb up (again). Like before, if you’re unsure, you can stop the Talus with Stasis before you climb. Then once you’re on top, whack the ore deposit some more until you think you might get thrown off (or you do get thrown off). Keep repeating this until it’s dust.
