The Dendro Hypostasis is the final elemental Hypostasis and is located in the Sumeru Desert. The boss drops the materials needed to ascend Nahida to level 90. Like most Hypostasis, this boss relies on keeping its core hidden for most of the fight. You will need to know how to dodge its attacks and when to strike to deal damage to the boss. The guide below goes over everything you need to know, from rewards to how to defeat the Dendro Hypostasis.
Location | Respawn Time | Element |
---|---|---|
Land of Lower Setekh, Sumeru | 5 minutes | Dendro |
Description¶
Code Name: Zayin. A high-purity Dendro entity.
According to the deductions of some researchers, Elemental Hypostases have the knowledge required to “learn,” which is how they use “mimesis” to initiate attacks. However, the ability to incorporate information to create change also opens one to the risk of information contamination. As this creature learns and changes, the purpose of its birth — no matter how academically unquantifiable it may still be — may yet become so distorted as to be rendered irrelevant.

Attacks and Abilities¶
Mucky Orbs¶
Shoots three waves of three orbs that deal 40% Dendro damage to your character. The areas where the orbs land will be afflicted with Dendro. Touching them will deal 5% Dendro damage to your character.
Whip Combo¶
Turns into a whip and strikes directly in front of itself three times. These hits deal 40%, 60%, and 80% Dendro damage.
Plunging Attack¶
Jumps and slams into the ground three times, dealing 70%, then 70%, and finally 100% AoE Dendro damage.
Vine Spikes¶
Reveals its core and sends four vines plunging upward through the arena. These will each deal 20% Dendro damage, and each vine will grow thorns that deal an additional 50% Dendro damage.
Vine Jail¶
Surrounds itself in thorns exposing its core. When touched, the vines will deal 10% Dendro damage and slowly close in on the core. When they have reached the core, a Dendro explosion will happen dealing 100% AoE Dendro damage.
Revival Phase¶
In this phase, the Dendro Hypostasis will summon three Restorative Piths. Hit them with Electro or Dendro repeatedly to max out the bar and defeat the Hypostasis. This will only occur when the Dendro Hypostasis reaches 5% health.
Strategy (Dendro Needed, Pyro & Electro Recommended)¶
The strategy used to beat this boss will be extremely familiar as it isn’t much different than the other Hypostasis bosses. The biggest difference is that you must keep a Dendro or Electro character on your team. The Dendro Hypostasis is immune to Dendro damage, though, so you will need to work with a three-character team for the fight. For the most part, you will want to dodge and set up attacks to catch the Hypostasis during its vulnerable periods. You can also use Pyro to interrupt the Plunging attack, Vine Spikes attack, and Vine Jail attack.
A shield can help to absorb damage, and it’s rather easy to memorize the boss’s attack patterns. Make sure that when the boss goes into its Revival Phase, you keep attacking with Dendro and Electro to max out the bar and defeat the Dendro Hypostasis.
Victory¶
Once the boss is defeated, a Trounce Blossom will bloom in the arena. You will need to interact with the blossom to claim your reward, and this will cost you 40 Resin.
