This stage can be pretty tough if you don’t know what you’re doing. Although the enemies come from two different sides, they have to pass through the middle lane to get to our portals. This is where we set up our defenses. If your Stick ban is Hydro/Cryo, change the Cryo Mechanici in the setup to Electro, and buff the Electro Mechanici later on instead of the Cryo. The setup can stay the same, it’s just the element and Wondrous Stick priorities that change.
Periodically fires a Frost Bullet in a straight line. Deals 50% ATK as Cryo DMG to the first opponent it hits.
Veneficus Mechanicus: Furious Discharge
Attacks 1 opponent at a time with a Thunder Strike that deals 80% ATK as Electro DMG.
Veneficus Mechanicus: Inferno
Attacks opponents with Blazing Sparks that explode on hit, dealing 100% ATK as AoE Pyro DMG.
Veneficus Mechanicus: Dust Devil
Once deployed, the orientation can be adjusted in the construction menu to attack in different directions. Deals 75% of its ATK as AoE Anemo DMG and knocks enemies back.
The enemies in this wave are just Hilichurls, so there’s nothing to worry about. To start, we want to place 10 Mechanici in the middle lane. From your north portal, place two Pyro Mechanic on the east panels, an Anemo Mechanici on the central panel to the west of them, rotated to face the western stairs. Then place two Cryo Mechanici on the two panels to the west of the Anemo Mechanici. We want to mirror that for the southern portal. So, place two Pyro Mechanic on the western panels, Anemo on the central panel east of them, rotated to face the eastern stairs, then finally, place two Cryo Mechanici on the panels to the east of the Anemo Mechanici.
This wave is all about the slimes. The Large Slimes can be quite tough to take down in time, as they are shielded, and deceptively quick. For the setup, we’ll finish it off by placing an Anemo, and a Cryo Mechanici on the panels near the north enemy portal. Make sure the Anemo Mechanici is rotated to face the portal. Mirror that for the southern enemy portal, and the setup will be complete. If you have any Veneficus points over, you can start upgrading your Mechanici.
The only tough part of this wave is the Samachurls due to their Fleet-Footed Trait, which makes them run faster. Your setup should be fine, but one or two can sometimes get past, it depends on what Wondrous Stick you’ve had access too. If you want a 100% run, watch them closely, if they look like they’ll get through, attack them with your characters to slow them down, and/or use the device when they’re on the golden glyph platform to make them plummet to the abyss.
As the setup stays the same, enhance your Mechanici with Wondrous Sticks (keep doing this throughout the wave). For the Pyro Mechanici: Beacon (range), Wildfire (speed), and Embers (ATK up) are always great to upgrade. If Pyro Orb, Defrost and Inflammation show up, these will make it a lot easier. With Anemo, just upgrade it with Hurricane (ATK SPD), and Headwind (ATK). Depending on if you’re using the Electro or Cryo setup, pick one of the elements to focus on. For the Electro Mechanic: Blitz (range), Thunderstrike (speed), and Thunderstorm (ATK up) are always great to use. Bombardier and Vengeance are the top two to keep an eye out for, with Jolt being very useful too. For Cryo, Snowdance is almost mandatory due to its movement speed down buff, Uninhibited is great, and reduces the enemies elemental resistance. Hailstones is costly but worth it if you have the spare points, and finally, Quickfrost (ATK SPD), Frostbite (ATK UP), and Floe (Range) are all great.
There’s not much to say about this wave, the setup is done, and the only change is the Electro Abyss Mages, but they’ll go down with no problems. Keep upgrading your Mechanici throughout the round, and use the device if you need to.
For this last wave, you’ll be facing a Thunderhelm Lawachurl if your Stick Bans are Hydro/Electro, otherwise you’ll face Frostarm Lawachurls. Although these have a large shield, and high health, our setup will whittle them down. There’s only six of them in this wave, and they walk at a snail’s pace, giving our Mechanici enough time to defeat them. If one does get through, use the device to activate the bridge. Finally, make sure to keep upgrading your Mechanici, you should be able to get at least two buffs.
