Find the Unmarked Island¶
This Quest isn’t accepted like the majority of the quests. To begin this quest you will need to fly over to an Unmarked Island which will instantly trigger it once you land on it. To do this you will need to go to Starsnatch Cliff teleport and head east to the edge of the cliff.
You will not make the distance by traditional means due to the lack of stamina, there are a few ways to get around this. By bringing two Anemo characters, this will give you a buff which decreases stamina consumption by 15%. Bringing Amber will decrease stamina consumption when gliding by 20% and bringing some Delicious Northern Smoked Chicken which restores stamina by 60 and can be used whilst gliding or swimming. Another way to get to the island is by using Cryo characters such as Kaeya or Chongyun to freeze the water and walking across but this can be time consuming. Once you have got to the island you will get a quest update called Time and Wind.
Find the Ragged Notebook¶
By going to the eastern side of the island you will see a small abandoned campsite, just behind and to the right of the campsite is a rock formation that can be broken to reveal a Ragged Notebook. This will now update the quest and tell you to observe the shadow on the sundial.
Observe the shadow on the sundial¶
In the center of the island you will find a sundial, change the in game time to 02:00 and then you will have to find three clusters of wind on the island that can only be found when using Elemental Sight and you will need an Anemo character to disperse of them.
Disperse the cluster of wind¶
One cluster of wind can be found on top of a rock at the south part of the island, another can be found on the largest stone pillar at the center of the island near the sundial and finally the last one can be found on the south west of the island on top of a sunken stone pillar. To reach the last one use a Cryo character like Chongyun to freeze the floor by the cluster and quickly switch to an Anemo character and disperse of it.
Scatter the deposit of wind¶
After dispersing of the last cluster of wind you will need to head to the center of the island and use an Anemo skill on the wind deposit which is on the pedestal, doing this will prompt a fight with the Eye of the Storm which will flee when you bring it down to its last 10% of its HP. The Eye of the Storm is level 40 and can be a challenging boss if you’re unprepared or under leveled. Being an Anemo enemy, it’s immune to Anemo so avoid using that, if you don’t have any ranged characters you will have to dodge the attacks it does until it hovers above and slams down on you.
The Eye of the Storm has three attacks starting with a charging spin that can hit for large amounts of damage, to avoid this just simply dodge to either side as it approaches you. The second attack it will do is to hover above you and then slam down on top of you, as it does this it will also pull you into the AoE marker on the floor. To avoid this, just keep dodging out of the marker until it hits the floor, this is also the best time to attack it as it will be stationary for about five seconds. The combination of Hydro and Cryo works great here as you can set the Wet status on it with Xingqui’s: Guhua Sword - Fatal Rainscreen and follow it up with Chongyun’s Spirit Blade: Chonghua’s Layered Frost which will set the Frozen status and stop it from moving as well as lower its defense, if you use Pyro whilst it’s Frozen you will cause the status Melt for bonus damage. You can use any of the characters from the respective elements to execute this combo so don’t feel the need to take Xingqui and Chongyun in particular.
Its last attack will create an Anemo barrier in a large circular area around you which will trap you inside of it, this will deal continuous damage whilst you are on the floor. When it’s doing this attack there will be random wind spouts within the circle that when double jumped on will let you ride the current for a couple of seconds, the idea here is to rotate to the different wind spouts as your current one begins to vanish. As it disappears, stay where you are and a wind spout should spawn near you to glide on top off. This is a better way to do this because if you chase the wind spouts they might disappear as you get to them which will leave you on the floor to take damage. You can sometimes avoid this attack altogether if you climb on top of the large pillar near you as the damage only happens at the same height as the boss. If you do have ranged characters you can strike the boss whilst it’s doing this attack which will immobilize it for a few seconds.
Pursue the Eye of the Storm¶
Once the Eye of the Storm has been dealt with, the middle pedestal will open up and a wind current will come out of it. Glide up to the top and then follow the rings which take you to Thousand Winds Temple, as you land the objective will update.
Search for the Eye of the Storm¶
Once again you will have to disperse the cluster of winds and this time you will need four of them, unlike last time they are grouped up together by the sundial. Change the time to 02:00 and enter Elemental sight and disperse of them and a bunch of Anemo Slimes and Hilichurls will appear, dispatch them and the Eye will spawn, this time you will have to finish it for good.
Defeat the Eye of the Storm¶
This battle is a little bit tougher than the previous one as the Eye will also have Slime and Hilichurl adds mixed in throughout the fight. If you are underleveled it might be a good idea to leave the fight and let the aggro reset and then pick off the Slimes and Hilichurls a couple at a time although they will spawn throughout the fight. AoE attacks are good here so you can take them down more quickly. With the boss, its attacks stay the same although there is no large pillar to climb on to avoid the Anemo barrier attack mentioned above.
Talk to Henry Morton¶
After the Eye is defeated, talk to Henry who is standing just to the side of you, after some dialogue the quest will be finished.
