Go to Yae Publishing House¶
Following on from the previous quest, you’ll need to make your way to Yae Publishing House. Teleport to the upper waypoint of Inazuma City, and glide down to the Publishing House for a scene. It appears that Yae Miko’s plan to take the top spot in the charts from “A Firsthand Guide to Summoning Spirits” with her own novel. She tells you that to get rid of the next big, you need to replace it with the next big thing. Apparently she wants you to help her with it, but when you tell her you have no experience in writing, she reassures you by telling you that she will help you. Furthermore, there is a writers’ submission event happening right now in Inazuma City. She wants you to speak to the readers to see what they’re into, and then meet her at the Uyuu Restaurant afterwards.
Go to the submission event to listen to what the readers like (0/3)¶
Follow the stairs up to your east, and you’ll find the event. You’ll need to get three of the readers’ opinions on what they like to read in their books. These are:
-
Kyouta - He seems to be into big ambitious fantasy works although most books these days feel like they are imitating each other, so he prefers an original concept.
-
Oosuke - He thinks that the key to an excellent light novel is that it has good illustrations. He thinks that they can make up for the bad writing the book may contain, on the flipside, bad illustrations can ruin a well written novel.
-
Tetsuo - He likes books that give cheap thrills which is why a “Firsthand Guide to Summoning Spirits” is so good to him. Sometimes a long and drawn out character arc can be a little slow paced.
When you’ve talked with all the readers, make your way to Uyuu Restaurant which is situated in the center of Inazuma City, to your south.
Go to Uyuu Restaurant to finish the light novel¶
As you enter the restaurant, you’ll get a scene. Yae Miko will introduce you to a few people who’ll help write the book, and she’ll ask what you’ve discovered about the readers. You’ll tell her what you’ve learned, and she’ll tell you that you don’t need to copy the “A Firsthand Guide to Summoning Spirits”, just as long as the core content is interesting. She’ll ask you to provide some ideas based on your traveling experiences.
Now’s the fun part, you’ll get to create the book based on the choices you wrote. There isn’t a wrong answer, although Yae Miko will rate your submission out of 10. The choices are:
-
“Reincarnated in Another World: Encounters with Airborne Emergency Rations” - Yae Miko will rate this as a 9.
-
“The Work-Shy Bard” - Yae Miko will rate this as a 9.5.
-
“The Dragon and the Grand Adventure” - Yae Miko will also rate this as a 9.
Once you’ve given your submission, Junkichi will get right on to it. Now she’ll ask what Chapter 2 will be about, but you’ll have a writers’ block. She finds that when this happens it’s best to have some food, and she’ll order you a plate of Fried Tofu, and get some Kushikatsu. This is the perfect opportunity for Paimon to ask her about pay for your work on the book, and Yae Miko tells you that everyone who works on the creative process will get paid. Funny enough, this breaks your writers’ block, and you’ll have some choices for Chapter 2. These are:
-
“Took a Trip to Liyue, Tour Guide Turned Out to Be Rex Lapis” - Yae Miko will rate this idea as a 9.8.
-
“Rock ‘N’ Roll Girl!!!” - Yae Miko will rate this a 9.5.
-
“I Turned Into a Geovishap Hatchling!” - Yae Miko will also rate this a 9.5.
Once again, choose your submission, and Satomi will make a start on Chapter 2. For the third chapter, Yae Miko suggests that it should be about Inazuma, and more importantly, the Vision Hunt Decree. This will give you one more choice to make for your submission which are:
-
“Stuff This! C’mon, Let’s Get Rid of This Vision Hunt Decree!” - Yae Miko won’t give a rating out of 10, but she’ll tell you the idea is “fine”.
-
“Farewell, Literature Hunt Decree!” - Yae Miko won’t give a rating out of 10, but she’ll tell you the idea is “great”.
-
“Starting as a Resistance Soldier” - Yae Miko won’t give a rating out of 10, but she’ll tell you the idea is “rather good”.
Make your final submission, and Yae Miko will tell you that she’ll need to make some edits to the story as she doesn’t want the public to know that she was the one who gave you the omamori. Instead, she’ll create a somewhat fictional character that goes by the name “The mysterious Lady Kitsune”.
Go to Yae Publishing House to complete the endorsement¶
Now you’ll need to get the book endorsed by Ms. Hina who’ll be at the Yae Publishing House. Exit the restaurant, and make your way to the Publishing House which’ll be to your northwest. When you get there, talk to Kuroda for a scene. You’ll explain the situation to him, and he’ll tell you that Ms. Hina normally doesn’t do endorsements, but since it’s Lady Guuji (Yae Miko) that’s asking, he’ll see what he can do.
Go to submit the manuscript¶
You’re almost done now, you’ll just need to submit the manuscript. Make your way back to the writers’ event, and give the manuscript to the host, Nakano Shino. She’ll read out the title and author of it which just happens to be “The Miraculous Adventures of the Traveler,” by the author “Thousand Hands.” Nakano will tell you that she’ll get this printed as a priority, and test it out in key locations in Inazuma for trial sales, then she’ll give you the sales numbers in three days.
Wait for three days¶
When the scene ends, you’ll need to wait for the sale predictions. Go into the menu, then go to the time section indicated with a clock to speed up time. Rotate the clock three times to make three days pass, and you’ll get a scene. Nakano will tell you the good news, apparently your light novel is flying off the shelves, and she’ll give you some extra copies of it that she printed.
Paimon will ask how you’ll know if the plan worked, and Yae Miko will tell you the changes are already underway. After listening to the people around you, you’ll hear them all talk about your new book. Tetsuo will tell Kazumichi who hasn’t read it yet that if you recite the spell in there on a moonless light, you’ll receive the protection of the Kitsune as well as the Youkai, and your wishes will come true. Best of all, it doesn’t have any side effects.
Although Yae Miko has put Paimons mind at rest regarding the success of the book, she mentions that you still haven’t found the author of the “A Firsthand Guide to Summoning Spirits”. Yae Miko tells her that she has in-fact found the author who is a failed light novelist that goes by the name Tomoyuki. When she found him, he had no recollection of writing the book which could only mean that he was possessed. Furthermore, she’ll tell you that although the spirit has left Tomoyuki, you can use the same trick to summon the spirit, and that you are the perfect candidate for the role with a dubious laugh. When the scene ends, so will the quest.
