How to Level Up Fast in Starfield

By
Jessica Dillon
  1. There are a ton of ways to level in Starfield, but doing so quickly can be a challenge. It can take hours to complete a single quest depending on which one you pick up, and just fighting enemies won’t level you quickly. If you’re looking to unlock skills as fast as possible then you will need a way to start building up experience points. The guide below goes over the two fastest methods to gaining experience in the game.

Hunting Fauna is one of the fastest ways to level up in Starfield.

Fastest Ways to Farm Experience in Starfield

Starfield has a lot of skills, and all of them can be leveled up. If you’re one of the players looking to make high-level builds then you will need to gain experience fast. Gaining experience is done naturally over the course of the game, and in all honesty seems to happen at a decent rate. If you want to speed things up a bit though, then there are a few methods that you can use. While questing may seem like the surefire way to gain experience fast, this does take quite a bit of time, instead, there are two major methods that players have found help them grind out levels quickly. Before starting the methods below make sure to sleep in a bed for the Well Rested 10% experience buff. In addition to this, you can get a 15% buff from sleeping with your romantic interests and some food items give a 2% buff.

The first method is by going to a high-level planet filled with alien animals. Once there, you locate the herbivores and continue to hunt them down. Herbivores aren’t wired to fight, so killing them is easy from an early level, and you will get a large amount of experience for each one you take down. Some players have even used the Outpost feature to make hunting towers on high-level planets to easily snipe aliens. Keep in mind that you will need a ton of ammo for this method, but it’s guaranteed to work.

The next major way that players are farming experience is by using the crafting system. This method was shown by Maka91Productions who used his outpost to reach level 100. This is a bit trickier as you do have to have the materials to build up your outpost and get lucky enough to find a planet with tons of "Iron" iconIron and "Aluminum" iconAluminum. Once you do, you can use extractors that link to your storage on the ore deposits to give you a constant flow of materials to craft with. The item you should focus on making is "Adaptive Frame" iconAdaptive Frames as they are simple to make. Narion’s Andraphon has been hailed as a planet that has the resources you need so you can start there when building your outpost.

If you’re looking for another planet, be sure to check that it doesn’t have extreme conditions that won’t let you set up an outpost. Once you get set up, the experience should start pouring in pretty quickly. Just be sure to give your extractors time to gather ore and you should be good to go.

Starfield is an action role-playing game from Bethesda Game Studios set in a futuristic interpretation of space exploration and colonization. Earth has long been abandoned, but there are plenty of other planets in different star systems where humans have ventured and settled. You have the freedom to create your own character with a unique background, but the main story will take you through a series of adventures as you uncover more information about mysterious artifacts which create gravitational anomalies. Along the way, you can build and customize your own space ship, establish your own outpost, befriend and romance new companions, and more. As a Bethesda game, you can also expect to see a lot of creative mods which have the potential to change your experience of the base game, or take it in an entirely new direction.
