Extractors are an important part of outpost building as they can quickly provide you with resources. They are generally low-cost to build when you are getting started, making them a great investment. You will need to ensure that your outpost is near an ore vein to use them though. The guide below goes over every extractor in Starfield.
Extractor Types and Output¶
Many of the extractors above have different looks based on the materials you choose to make them. Still, they all follow some basic patterns. There are three primary types of matter that you are looking to extract: gases, liquids, and solids. All extractors used for gases have the same material requirements. While the appearance of the extractor may change, the base formula stays the same, helping you to easily memorize which materials you need.
In addition, each type of extractor has three levels of output. You have your standard low-cost build, then commercial, and the most powerful extractor type industrial. You can have multiple of the same type of extractor as long as you haven’t reached your outpost’s build limit. Here’s how much each level of extractor mines every two minutes, keep in mind that this increases if you have the Outpost Management skill at rank four.

All Extractors and Building Costs¶
Extractors can be placed over indicated ore veins within your outpost perimeters to pull ore from the ground. They will begin harvesting as soon as they have a fuel source. Below is every type of extractor you can make and their building costs. You will also notice that extractors that work with the same states of matter use the same materials to build.
