When you defeat the major bosses in Elden Ring, you will obtain a Great Rune. These can be taken to the various Divine Towers throughout the Lands Between to be activated for powerful boons. This page will act as an overview for all of the Great Runes in Elden Ring.
Every Great Rune¶
As mentioned above, these Runes are usually received from Elden Ring’s main bosses, although a few are from optional encounters.
There are a total of eight Great Runes in Elden Ring, although one of these is a multiplayer Rune reserved for invaders.
The table below will detail the name of the Great Rune, where you can obtain it and where you can find the Divine Tower needed to equip it.

Great Rune Effects¶
So now you know where to find these elusive Great Runes and how to activate them at the various Fingers across the Realms Between but you may be wondering what each one does. Rykard’s Great Rune | Restores HP after defeating enemies when using a Rune Arc |
Malenia’s Great Rune | After using a Rune Arc, when taking damage, allows your next hit to restore some lost HP |
Mohg’s Great Rune | Grants Summoned Spirits the Blessing of Blood buff. When they kill an enemy, you will restore HP, when they deal Blood damage, they’ll get an attack increase |
Morgott’s Great Rune | Increases HP by 25% when using a Rune Arc |
Phantom Great Rune | When invading, allows you to reposition yourself in a host’s world up to three times |
