Flying Dragon Agheel Location in Limgrave¶
Flying Dragon Agheel can be found in Dragon-Burnt Ruins, at the center of Lake Agheel in Limgrave. There’s a Statue of Marika nearby the ruins that you’ll be able to respawn at (should you need).
Flying Dragon Agheel Attacks¶
When you first approach Dragon-Burnt Ruins, you might get quite the jumpscare as Agheel flies and slams down into the center of the lake. This fight is your quintessential dragon fight! He’s one of the tougher bosses in the Limgrave region.
Bite¶
If you’re in melee range and attacking its face area, you may be subjected to a nasty bite! The best way to avoid this is to make sure you’re not spending too much time smacking his face.
Fly and Dive¶
Agheel will occasionally fly up into the sky and dive down to try and land on you. This attack has a reasonably big area of impact so watch out that you aren’t caught out by it. When he dives down, he’ll be temporarily incapacitated by the force of his dive so you’ll be able to get in a fair bit of uncontested damage!
Fire Breath¶
Is it really a dragon fight if he doesn’t breathe fire? If the dragon flies up, chances are you’ll need to brace yourself for a fire breath attack. He’ll spend a couple of seconds flying and breathing fire down on the ground - it’s a wide area of damage so get ready to get out of the way.
Agheel will also breath fire whilst on the ground. If he breathes fire whilst on the ground he’ll do a huge sweeping fire cone with a pretty long range. It goes without saying that you want to avoid being caught out by the fire!
Foot Stomp¶
One of the best ways to get in damage is to get underneath the dragon’s body and hit his body. If you’re close to either of his back legs there’s a chance you’ll get stomped on! Luckily it’s pretty easy to see the attack coming since he just raises his leg and you can get out of the way quickly.
Tail Swipe¶
Similar to the foot stomp attack, Agheel will use his tail to swipe at you as a counter if you attack his tail and behind for a prolonged amount of time.
Strategy to Defeat Agheel¶
The absolute best way to defeat Agheel is on horseback. You’ll really appreciate having the speed and agility of your mount as you fight Agheel. Otherwise, you’ll be dodging like a madman trying to get away from his flames. If you’re a melee champ you can swipe at him and move quickly before he has time to arrive.
Also another big tip is to avoid the Dragon-Burnt ruins camp whilst you fight Agheel. If the dogs catch sight of you they’ll chase you forever, and they’re just a big nuisance that’ll distract you from Agheel.
Agheel doesn’t have any definite phases, but it does seem like he uses fire breath attacks a lot more when he’s at a lower health. But if you’re on horseback you shouldn’t have any issues running out of the way of the fire.
The most effective way of doing melee damage to Agheel is to head right under his body and hit at his wings and his legs. They’re pretty large targets so you won’t have to be super precise in your hits. Just make sure you watch out for his stomps or tail whips. You’ll be able to get a lot of damage in this way when he dives from the sky as he’ll be temporarily incapacitated by the force of his dive.
Unfortunately, if you’re a melee champ you won’t be able to do any damage to Agheel if he flies up into the air. If you’ve got good aim, ranged characters and spellcasters could try to hit him whilst he’s up in the sky.
Agheel Rewards¶
Upon defeating Agheel, you’ll earn a Dragon Heart and a new draconic power, Agheel’s Flame, that’s available at the Cathedral of Dragon Communion.
