In Elden Ring, you’ll find a wide range of characters that will share their plight with you, most of these will have Quests that span multiple locations. This page will detail where you can find Rya and complete her Questline.
First Meeting - East of Scenic Isle¶
Your first meeting with Rya takes place in Liurnia, at a small pavilion where the Birdseye Telescope is east of Scenic Isle. Head over and speak to her to learn that another Tarnished has stolen her necklace from her, and requests that you track it down for her. Agree to assist her and she’ll inform you that he should be at his home down the way a little.
Leave the pavilion and head a short distance to the northwest and you’ll locate Boilprawn Shack, along with the thief, Blackguard. Upon speaking with him, you’ll learn that he does have it, leaving you with two options, you can either kill him and loot it from his body or you can agree to purchase it from him for 1000 Runes. Purchasing the Necklace will also allow you to begin Blackguard’s Quest so be sure to avoid killing him, 1000 Runes is a minor amount of Runes at this point.
Return to Rya with the Necklace and she’ll thank you, remarking about your character and that it’s something that her mistress would find useful indeed. She’ll hand over a Volcano Manor Invitation and depart from this current location.
Second Meeting - Lux Ruins¶
Once you finally gain access to the Altus Plateau, ride the Grand Lift of Dectus and there’s a chance you may see Rya again (she will directly teleport you to Volcano Manor in this instance). If she’s not here, head northwest to the Lux Ruins, of which you’ll find the Erdtree-Gazing Hill Site of Grace nearby where Rya should be. Speak with her to learn more about her and Volcano Manor where she’ll move to after this meeting.
Third Meeting - Volcano Manor¶
Once you reach Volcano Manor, you must accept Lady Tanith’s request to join the manor and you’ll obtain the Drawing-Room Key, this will allow you to access the rooms in the western corridor. Inside, you’ll find many NPCs including Rya, speak with her and exhaust all of her dialogue here. You’ll now need to complete the first assassination contract, obtain your reward from Tanith, and then speak to Rya once again, she’ll remark about some strange sounds she’s been hearing lately.
Complete the next assassination contract for Tanith and get your reward and you’ll notice that Rya isn’t in her usual place. Instead, head into the room opposite and you’ll find a serpent that you can speak to. This is in fact, the true form or Rya who introduces her as Zorayas. She’ll inform you that Tanith is her mother, and that she assumes her other guise as to not draw the ire of regular people. Head over to Tanith after hearing this and you can ask her about Zorayas’s form.
Refresh the area by using the Site of Grace and return to the room where you saw Rya to find her in her human form this time. She’ll mention that she’s been hearing noises of late from the room next to you, hinting at the secret passage there. Head back to Tanith and you’ll be able to ask her about “Tanith’s Troubles”. Head to the room next to Rya, strike the wall and proceed through the secret passage and you’ll eventually reach the Prison Town Church Site of Grace.
Opening the doors will bring you to the main area of the Legacy Dungeon, and you’ll need to progress through until you reach the Guest Hall Site of Grace. Return to Rya and you’ll be able to “Tell her of the dark side of Volcano Manor”, this is an optional encounter.
Fourth Meeting - Volcano Manor¶
At this point, you’ll need to return to the Guest Hall Site of Grace and continue through the Volcano Manor until you reach the Temple of Eiglay and defeat the Godskin Noble (Volcano Manor) there. Once defeated, touch the Grace, and then look on the altar to obtain the Serpent’s Amnion and then head back to Rya and hand it over.
Return to the Site of Grace and refresh the area and return to Rya’s room, you’ll notice that she’s missing. Speak with Tanith and ask her about “Zoraya’s absence” and upon exhausting her dialogue, she’ll hand over the Tonic of Forgetfulness, suggesting you give it to Zorayas to help ease her pain.
Final Meeting - Volcano Manor¶
Your next task will be to track down and discover where Zorayas has hidden herself. Return to the Temple of Eiglay Site of Grace and take the lift up to the balcony and leaping down to the area beyond it. Follow the path beyond the fire slugs and you’ll reach a lava field. Continue past the iron maiden to the northwest and you’ll discover a window you can climb through. Open the door and follow the path up the stairs and into another room, you’ll find a lift to your southeast (which also acts as a shortcut).
As you ride this down, you’ll find a doorway you can drop onto on the northwest wall almost immediately. Exit this new room via the window and head across the lava field to the north to another window you can climb through, here you will find Rya on the ground. Speaking with here will prevent you with a number of choices in how you wish to conclude her Quest:
Don’t give Rya the Tonic and don’t kill her¶
Despite Rya’s wishes, refuse to give her the tonic and don’t take up her offer to kill her. Instead, return to this room after defeating Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy and speak with her to have her acknowledge that you’re refusing to kill her. Again, don’t give her the tonic and refresh the area, this time when you return, you’ll find Zoraya’s Letter and the Daedicar’s Woe Talisman in her place, this is considered the best ending to her Quest.
Give Rya the Tonic¶
Choose to give Rya the Tonic and return to Tanith to tell her of the deed. Proceed through the area and defeat Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy to find that Rya is back in her original location, in the drawing-room. Exhaust her dialogue and you’ll discover the tonic has had its desired effect, refresh the area one final time and you’ll find the Daedicar’s Woe Talisman in her place.
Kill Rya¶
Your final option is to take Rya up on her offer and put her out of her pain. Simply strike her to kill her, having her drop the Daedicar’s Woe Talisman. You can then optionally return to Tanith and inform her that Zorayas is dead, this has no impact on the ending of the Quest.
