This page details everything you need to know about where to find and how to beat Beigadr the Feared, one of the Berserker Gravestone soul bosses. This one is found on Alberich Island in Svartalfheim. You’ll need the Hilt of Skofnung to activate the gravestone and summon Beigadr, which you’ll get during “The Word of Fate’’ main quest.
Where to Find Beigadr the Feared Berserker Gravestone at Alberich Island¶
You can find Beigadr’s gravestone on Alberich Island in the Svartalfheim region. Teleport to The Watchtower Mystic Gateway, and traverse the sea far north. When you land on the beach, the Gravestone will be right in front of you.
How to Activate the Berserker Gravestones¶
To activate the gravestones, you’ll need the key-item Hilt of Skofnung which you’ll acquire during the story mission “The Word of Fate”. With Hilt in hand, interact with the gravestone to place a circular arena around the gravestone, and one or more of the Berserker’s will spawn. If you die, and you most likely will, you’ll start near the gravestone, so there’s no reason not to try them whenever you see one.
How to Defeat Beigadr the Feared – Attacks¶
Below you’ll see a list of all the attacks that Beigadr the Feared has in his arsenal.
Teleport Smash¶
Beigadr will quickly disappear, and teleport to your location. As this is a Red-Ring attack, you’ll have to avoid it. This will be shown by a green circle beneath you. Simply sidestep/roll to the side just as it’s about to land. This is a great time to get some damage in.
Thunder Fists¶
This is your standard two-hit melee combo. Beigadr will teleport to your location, and perform a two-hit combo while his fists are charged with thunder. This is easily avoided by blocking, parrying or dodging.
Thunder Spark (Yellow-Ring)¶
A rare melee-range attack which is normally used after his melee combo. Beigadr will shortly charge up a small thunder spark strike in front of himself. It’s not worth parrying this attack, instead simply dodge to the side of it, and attack him while he performs the attack.
Thunder Orbs¶
Beigadr will jump to the back of the arena and quickfire two thunder orbs at your position. This will always be thrown as two orbs in quick succession, so simply dodge or sidestep to avoid them. These can also be blocked if you don’t want to risk taking damage.
ThunderBall (Red-Ring)¶
Similar to Thunder Orbs, Beigadr will jump to the back of the arena, and proceed to throw a large Thunder Ball at your location. There will be a Red Ring preceding the Orb which means you’ll have to dodge it. To avoid the attack, dodge roll to either side, but wait until the ball closes in on you. Also, you can dodge away from it providing you have the space. Getting hit by this attack will root you in place, and Beigadr will teleport and attack you. Quickly press repeatedly to get out of the root.
Thunder Wave¶
Another attack from ranged, Beigadr will unleash a wave of thunder across the ground. This attack semi-tracks you, so wait until it gets nearer to you before dodging to the side. Another tip for this attack is the bait, and switch. Start moving one direction, and quickly dodge to the opposite side. Finally, this attack is blockable, so you can just stand and block it, but you may get hit by a follow-up attack.
ThunderStorm (Red-Ring)¶
Beigadr will jump into the air, hand held aloft, and cast a ThunderStorm which will place thunderbolts under your feet. There’ll be approximately seven bolts, and they’ll follow you around. Run/roll around in a circle, so right, right, forward, forward, left, left, down, down. You can just sprint around the arena, but you may get caught out by any follow-up attacks, so keep this in mind.
Beigadr the Feared Strategy¶
Beigadr prefers to fight from ranged with thunder-based attacks. If you get hit by any of them, the majority will stun you, and leave you open to any potential follow-up attacks. This is Beigadr’s typical strategy. For the most part, he is relatively easy, but one attack that may give you trouble is his ThunderBall attack as the timing is tight, and it has to be dodged.
Ideally, you’ll want to wait until the last second before rolling to the side or if you have room behind you, rolling away from it. His other attacks can be blocked, or are easily telegraphed that you shouldn’t be getting hit by them. If you do get hit by any attacks, you’ll most likely be stunned/rooted, and you’ll have to repeatedly press the to get out of it. This is where most of his damage will come from, so try not to get hit by it, or counter it with Amulet Enchantments. Talking of Amulet Enchantments, the Svartalfheim set is good for increasing your stun damage, and Celestial Panacea is almost a must-have as it’ll give you 25% resistance to all status effects. This means you won’t get automatically stunned if you get hit by one of his attacks. You can find out where to get this enchantment here.
You’re probably thinking that to deal damage to him, you should rush in as he is a ranged attacker, wrong. This will only get you caught by his attacks leading to a quicker death. Instead, use ranged attacks of your own. The Draupnir Spear is best for this as it’s quicker, and you can detonate them for extra damage which may make them flinch too, but a charged up attack with the Leviathan Axe can deal good damage too. After he gets fed up with you hurling spears into his face, he’ll close the distance himself, most likely with his Teleport Smash attack, and this is where you can punish him up close. Throw your Runic, and melee attacks at him until he retreats again.
Keep your patience, and you’ll take him down in no time. Remember, as the Berserker’s health gets low, they’ll become less likely to get staggered, and they’ll chain their attacks together, so be prepared to ride out the last 10%.
