This page will detail how to start and complete The Lost Treasure Favor in God of War Ragnarok.
Where to Start The Lost Treasure Favor in God of War Ragnarok¶
Before you can start this Favor, you will need to have finished the Forging Destiny main quest and obtained the Draupnir Spear. Once you have done that, head to Svartalfheim and journey to Dragon Beach, which is north of Nidavellir. After parking your boat, find the chain you can climb, where you should see a spot to throw you spear. Do this to create a foothold, allowing you to reach the ledge above. As soon as you climb up, you should see a spirit in the corner that will give you this Favor. It’s a good idea to have the Spirit of Rebellion Favor logged, since you can do both at the same time.
How to Complete The Lost Treasure Favor¶
From where you met the spirit, continue climbing the next ledge and grapple across to the bridge. Go east now and you will be in Alberich Hollow. If you haven’t done so and have Spirit of Rebellion logged, use the enchanted chisel on the mirror along the way, to make a rune word appear on the hammer of the large statue. Having your companion say the word will cause the hammer to lift, revealing a chest with the Hammer of the Revolution in it. That’s enough distractions for now, so continue past the giant statue and through the nearby cave, where you will find some enemies. The first set will be some Grim and a Bergsra, then you’ll have to use a fire bomb from a nearby jar to clear some debris.
This will get you to a second set of enemies, which includes a Nokken and more Grim. The Nokken here is actually kind of hidden, as some debris is holding it in place on the central pillar in the second battle area. As usual, you want to defeat the Nokken first, as they will start singing their song to keep the other enemies’ health full. After dispatching those enemies, there will be another set of debris blocking progress. Getting rid of this will pit you against a miniboss, named Ormstunga.
How to Defeat Ormstunga¶
Ormstunga isn’t a challenging miniboss, but it moves fairly quickly and can be tough to hit because of its movement sometimes. By far, the most annoying move in its arsenal is its unblockable, where it will swiftly do a rolling ball attack at you. This can come out of nowhere sometimes and is pretty difficult to dodge. Other moves include throwing poison projectiles at you, striking you with its long tongue (yellow ring), and lunge attacks (yellow ring). For defeating this creature, you will receive the Emblem of Elusion Amulet Enchantment.
There will be a fallen pillar past the miniboss and on the other side, more debris. However, you can’t lift the pillar while holding a fire bomb, so you need to find another vantage point for throwing the bomb. Grab a fire bomb and climb the ledge with the Yggdrasil Rift (this is a Lindwyrm for The Lost Lindwyrms Favor), then look north to find an opening that allows you to clear the rubble. Head past the fallen pillar now and open the Legendary Chest here, which is one of the two treasures for The Lost Treasures favor. Don’t forget to grab the Treasure Map - Fruits of Industry before dropping down the chain and boarding your boat.
Where to Find the Spirit’s Son for The Lost Treasure¶
The son will be located on Alberich Island, which is the northernmost piece of land in the Bay of Bounty area in Svartalfheim. Land your boat here, clear out any enemies (ignore the Berserker Gravestone), and locate the spot where you can throw the spear. Use that to reach the ledge above, where you will find the spirit’s son. It looks like, he too, perished while chasing after the second treasure. Kratos wants to find this treasure first, then return to the father, so it’s time to go hunting.
Head to the end of the path up past the son to find a lift and waterwheel, although the wheel isn’t getting any water. Nearby, there will be some Soundstone, so have your companion destroy it with Sonic Arrows, then go to the bottom of the path. If you look past the grapple point, you should notice a large rock with some wind coming out of it. Toss your spear at the crack, then detonate it to blow up the rock, allowing water to get to the wheel now. This will raise the lift, allowing you to use the grapple point to get across to a lone platform, with another Yggdrasil Rift (another Lindwyrm).
Use the next grapple point to get across to the next island, where another small puzzle will be waiting. You need to freeze the geyser, but it’s behind a metal gate. If you head to the end of the path, you will find a chain to pull, but the runic disc to hold it in place is inaccessible. Go back a little bit to see a spot for your spear on a rock, which will remove it. You can now access the runic disc while holding the chain in place, but you will need your axe to freeze the geyser. So, while holding the chain, have your companion shoot a Sigil Arrow at the disc, then toss your axe at it. Quickly run back to the platform, recall your axe and freeze the geyser.
This will lower the lift and allow you to grapple to it, where you can recall your axe again to ride the lift to the top. Defeat the enemies here, then grapple to the next ledge, where you will find the second treasure chest. Open it to get a Jewel of Yggdrasil to upgrade your Amulet, as well as some materials and a whopping 45,000 Hacksilver. Use the nearby rope to get back to Alberich Island, where you will want to return to the father to report on his son and finish this Favor.
