How to find the Mystical Heirloom relic in Midgard, God of War Ragnarök, and the location of all four stone trolls that you can wake up to fight using the heirloom.
Where to Find the Mystical Heirloom Relic in Midgard, God of War Ragnarok¶
The first thing you need to know before you try to search for the Mystical Heirloom relic is that you won’t be able to access it without the Draupnir spear, so you’ll need to complete the Forging Destiny main quest first. Once you have the spear, it will allow you to access a number of previously inaccessible areas throughout most of the realms in God of War Ragnarok.
Assuming you now have the Draupnir spear, you can make your way to the Midgard realm and look for a gold mark in the ice wall just southwest of Tyr’s Temple, at the location shown in the screenshot below. All you need to do is throw your spear into the marking, then press to detonate it. This will break the ice wall and reveal a hidden area behind it, where you’ll find a corpse and the Mystical Heirloom beside it.
All Stone Troll Locations in Midgard, Alfheim, and Vanaheim in God of War Ragnarok¶
Now that you have the Mystical Heirloom, you can equip it and use it in the same way that you would any other relic or sword hilt, but it only has one use in activating the stone trolls. You can do this by standing next to them and then using the relic. You’ll find a total of four stone trolls in GoWR which can be awoken by using the Mystical Heirloom: one in Midgard, one in Alfheim, and two in Vanaheim.
Stone Trolls in God of War Ragnarok¶
Stone Troll | Location |
---|---|
Blodugr Steinn | At The Derelict Outpost, southeast Lake of Nine in Midgard |
Bjarg Stormr | In the western corner of The Forbidden Sands of Alfheim |
Golrab of the Ashes and Golrab of the Frost | In Noatun’s Garden, central Vanaheim |
If you want to see the exact location for each of the trolls on the world map, see the screenshots below.
Where to Find Blodugr Steinn Troll in Lake of Nine, Midgard¶
This is likely to be the first stone troll that you fight, since it’s a fairly short distance from where you found the Mystical Heirloom in Midgard. All you need to do is keep heading southwest from the site where you found the relic, until you reach the Derelict Outpost. You’ll find the stone troll near the entrance to the outpost after using the grapple hooks to swing in, as shown in the screenshot below.
Where to Find Bjarg Stormr Troll in The Forbidden Sands of Alfheim¶
This one is located in the western part of The Forbidden Sands, on a raised platform that you need to grapple the wall to reach. You’ll have an easier time finding this one if you complete the Song of the Sands favor first, which will clear the air of the sandstorm.
Where to Find Golrab of the Ashes and Golrab of the Frost Trolls in Noatun’s Garden, Vanaheim¶
The last two stone trolls, Golrab of the Ashes and Golrab of the Frost, can be found together in Noatun’s Garden, central Vanaheim. You’ll find them standing next to each other on the eastern side of the area, as shown in the screenshot below. You’ll need to use the rowing boat to reach this area, and it’s a good idea to clear the garden of any other enemies before you summon the trolls.
How to Craft the Steinborn Armor Set from the Stone Trolls¶
Once you’ve defeated all four of the stone trolls, you should have enough Slumber Stones and other materials to craft the Steinborn Armor Set. If you want to learn more about this armor or how to defeat the trolls, see our page on that here.
