This page details everything you need to know about how to complete The Eyes of Odin favor in God of War Ragnarok. We’ll cover the location of all 48 Odin’s Ravens throughout the realms of Svartalfheim, Alfheim, Vanaheim, Midgard, Helheim, and Muspelheim. We will also provide a strategy guide for defeating The Raven Keeper and The Pale One, both of which are bosses that you’ll need to defeat after opening the six chests with rewards for killing Odin’s Ravens.
Where to Find All of Odin’s Raven Locations in God of War Ragnarok¶
There are a total of 48 Odin’s Ravens to find and kill in God of War Ragnarok, and most of the realms have some associated with them. You will find 13 in Svartalfheim, 10 in Alfheim, 15 in Vanaheim, 6 in Midgard, 2 in Helheim, and 2 in Muspelheim. You can kill these at any point in the game, and none of them will become inaccessible after completing the main story, so there’s no particular rush to get them and you don’t need to worry about advancing the story while leaving some behind. We’ve provided links to each region’s collectibles below, where you’ll find the location of the Odin’s Ravens associated with them.

How to Kill Odin’s Ravens¶
You may need to return to these regions to find and kill some Odin’s Ravens which were previously inaccessible. The Draupnir Spear is required to access some hidden areas in each of these regions, and you won’t have access to this during your first play through Svartalfheim. You acquire the Draupnir Soar during the Forging Destiny main quest, so be sure to get this as soon as possible to avoid backtracking too much through areas that you’ve already explored.
Once you have the spear, you’ll notice that you can kill the ravens with ranged attacks using either the Leviathan Axe or the Draupnir Spear, so you don’t need to just rely on the axe anymore, which is generally slower than the spear. You can also throw multiple Draupnir Spears one after the other, making it potentially easier to kill flying ravens by spamming throws at them. There are some ravens that you’ll encounter which seem impossible to kill from the first position that you see them, so be sure to check our collectibles pages linked above to see exactly where you need to be to hit them. It’s sometimes the case that you won’t be able to hit a raven until you accessed a different area from the original one that you saw them from.
The Eyes of Odin Legendary Chest Rewards in Niflheim¶
As you kill more ravens, they will be sent to the tree in Niflheim where you can go to experience some unique dialogue in the form of a poem from them. This poem is expanded each time you kill a certain number of ravens, and you will earn specific rewards by opening the Legendary Chests beneath the tree, which can be unlocked each time that you reach a specific number of raven kills. The threshold for each Legendary Chest and each new verse is shown in the table below, along with the rewards for each.
Ravens Killed | Reward |
---|---|
6 | Girdle of Raven Tears |
12 | Bracers of Raven Tears |
18 | Cuirass of Raven Tears |
28 | Breath of Thamur (Heavy Runic Attack) |
38 | Meteoric Slam (Heavy Runic Attack) |
48 | The Finger of Ruin (Heavy Runic Attack) |
How to Defeat The Raven Keeper and The Pale One Bosses in Niflheim¶
Once you’ve found and killed all 48 of Odin’s Ravens throughout the realms, you can return to Niflheim to open the last Legendary Chest there. The ravens on the tree will speak another verse of their poem, and then The Raven Keeper will appear. This is a kind of Seidr boss which behaves in a similar way to other Seidr enemies in the game, so you will know to expect some teleportation tricks, but they also have a bunch of special attacks unique to the boss that you’ll need to learn how to avoid. This fight also has a phase during which you’ll need to fight a dragon named The Pale One, which we’ll cover on this page as well.
The Raven Keeper - Boss Fight¶
After approaching The Raven Keeper, follow it to the training area opposite the blacksmith. As you enter this area the boss fight will begin. You should start by using all of your Light and Heavy Runic Attacks, alongside any Relic or Hilt ability that you have equipped, both to ensure that you inflict as much damage as possible early on, but also because these will then be off cooldown as quickly as possible so that you can use them again later in the fight.
You should be able to take at least a quarter of the health from The Raven Keeper by using your special attacks at the beginning. At this point a number of Hel-Walkers will spawn, which you can deal with using regular melee or ranged combos. The Raven Keeper will reappear soon enough, even if you haven’t dealt with the Hel-Walkers yet, so keep an eye out for where they teleport as they come back into the fight. With all your special attacks on cooldown, there will be fewer opportunities to interrupt the boss, so you will likely begin to see more of their own special attacks at this point. One of the most common is an ice wall, which is similar to the one Kratos performs by holding with the Leviathan Axe equipped. You can block or parry this fairly easily with any shield, or just dodge it if you prefer.
Another ice attack that The Raven Keeper will use comes in the form of a kind of ice breath. This one can’t be blocked or parried, as indicated by the red ring indicator which will appear around the boss just before they execute it. Instead, you’ll need to dodge this one, or if you have any special attacks off cooldown, using one of these if you’re close to the boss will often interrupt any red ring attacks.
Once you get The Raven Keeper down to half health, another wave of Hel-Walkers will spawn as the boss disappears. This time there will be more elites, but nothing you haven’t seen before and nothing you can’t handle. Just remember to break through the blocking defences of some enemies by double tapping to execute a shield attack. This will also be required whenever you see the enemies use concentric blue ring attacks, but it will only work if you’re within melee range, so try not to be too far away from the enemies for too long.
The Pale One - Dragon Boss Fight¶
Aside from the ice wall and ice breath special attacks, The Raven Keeper will only use regular melee and ranged attacks, so it’s a pretty simple battle while you’re just fighting this boss. However, once you get The Raven Keeper to around 25% health, another boss will join the battle in the form of a dragon, named The Pale One. The Raven Keeper will actually disappear again at this point, and you will be waiting a few seconds before The Pale One begins attacking. The first attack will come in the form of an ice projectile, so be ready to dodge when you hear it roar. You won’t have much of a visual indication for this attack, especially since you probably won’t be able to see the dragon in the sky yet.
After the initial ranged attack, The Pale One will descend into the arena. It will begin with an ice breath attack which follows you as you move, so you need to be ready to interrupt this attack with one of your Runic Attacks or Relic / Sword Hilt abilities. Alternatively, you can try to dodge the attack as you keep moving away from the ice breath, but you won’t be able to block or parry it. The Pale One is particularly weak to the Blades of Chaos, but you should use any special attacks you have available to you regardless of the weapon initially. If you spam melee combos with the Blades of Chaos, you should take a significant chunk of health from The Pale One before it flies back into the sky.
With the dragon back in the sky, you should be able to see where it’s flying this time. This is important because the dragon will repeatedly attempt to dive bomb you will using ranged attacks, but you can actually knock it out of the sky by throwing your Leviathan Axe or Draupnir Spear at it. It’s much easier to do this with the spear since you can use multiple throws in quick succession, and it has greater velocity than the axe, which means you can throw it quickly at the last second and still expect to land a hit. It may be that the dragon will still be able to get a ranged attack off just before you bring it down with a ranged attack of your own, so be ready to avoid any projectiles.
Other than the ranged projectiles and the ice breath, The Pale One doesn’t have many special attacks, so you should become familiar with all it has to offer early on. As with most dragon fights in this game, they are disappointingly easy when compared with the Berserkers, for example. Once you’ve taken all of the dragon’s health, you need to finish it off with the spamming and pressing combo when prompted.
Back to The Raven Keeper¶
With The Pale One dead, it’s more of the same with The Raven Keeper. All you need to do is take the remaining 25% health from the boss. There will be no additional enemies at this point so the fight is simple. Be sure to loot the body once the boss is dead.
