However, for those paying attention to their quest log, you can find part of the character’s history, and learn more about him. Here are the locations of the clues for the Discover the History of Prince Orpheus in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Here is a guide to all the history of Prince Orpheus location notes in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Discover The History of Prince Orpheus: Clue Locations

Players can find the following clue locations for the Discover The History of Prince Orpheus quest in BG3 as follows:

  1. "Arcane Tower" iconArcane Tower
  2. Githyanki Creche / Monastery
  3. Balthazar’s Room in "Moonrise Towers" iconMoonrise Towers

The part of Orpheus history in the Arcane Tower is located on the fourth floor. The fourth floor is the floor with the beds inside it. Look towards the central elevator area, where a few tables are dotted around. One of them contains the Githyanki disc with some clues to the character.

(1 of 3) You can find the first piece of information on Prince Orpheus in the Arcane Tower in the Underdark.

The next one is available for players who visit the Githyanki Creche in the "Mountain Pass" iconMountain Pass. You can find the second book inside the room where the Gityhyanki train in the classroom. Look for the soldier getting beaten by the trainer, and you will find he has a device on him. You can roll persuasion if you’d like and grab it that way. Or kill them all and loot his corpse, either way should work.

If you save the Gith kid in the barracks, and you let him run off, then he seems to disappear like most other NPCS that do their sprint animation after dialogue. So, be mindful that you either need to save him AND persuade him to give you the item you need. Or, you let him die by the instructor and then loot his body later.

The final one is for players who get into Act 2 of the game. When you reach Moonrise Towers, either via the Mountain Pass route, where you use the Spider’s Lyre, or you enter incognito via the Harpers. Either way, it doesn’t matter. Simply head up the tower using the main stairway, and then proceed to sneak around where the eyeball patrols the library area. This will take you to a locked door leading to Balthazar’s room. When you break into the room, go to the right-hand wall, and you can find another Githyanki disc, directly relating to the tale of the Prince of the Comet on the shelf.

If you have Lae’Zel in your party at this point, you will get a special message written in Githyanki, and you can have her translate it for you.

This should complete the Discover the History of Prince Orpheus quest in Baldur’s Gate 3. When you get into Act 3, you will get the natural follow-up quest for this, resting to rescuing Prince Orpheus, you know who he is, his history, and now his location.
