The Chamber of Strategy is one of the four puzzles in the hidden Wyrmway area of the Wyrmgate. Here players are tasked with a small chess puzzle, or lance-board as the Faerun enjoyers know it as. If you want to complete the puzzle as easily as possible, we recommend doing a few small instructions and being on your way, as if you don’t, you get yourself into a fight. Here is the puzzle solution for the Chamber of Strategy in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Chamber of Strategy Puzzle Walkthrough in Baldur’s Gate 3¶
When you enter the Chamber of Strategy, you will have a challenge to checkmate in three turns, indicated by the red lights on the far end of the board. If you have Gale in your party, he will tell you the solution immediately. But, if you’re like us and don’t use him, then, you need to figure it out yourself.
The solution to the Chamber of Strategy puzzle where you need to move the White Queen is as follows:
- Move White Queen to the top right of the board. (top right from the way you entered.)
- Then move it sideways four tiles
After you move the Queen to the corner, the Black King will move between the two black pawns. You then move the Queen to its flank and rear; therefore, the Black King has no more moves. Doing this will checkmate the game, and win you the puzzle.
If you happen to fail it, you will get a lot of spirits to spawn in the board and battle you. So, it’s just another long sequence of events.
Once you’re done with either of the methods you chose to do, you can move on to the next rooms and finish the rest of the puzzles. You’re one step closer to going through the larger locked door, getting the rewards, and completing a part of Wyll’s storyline.
