Baldur’s Gate 3 will require you to create your own personal character and Guardian. However, many players are confused about what to select when creating this NPC in case it may affect the story. This page will detail everything you need to know about the Guardian.
Who is the Guardian in Baldur’s Gate 3¶
Once you’ve finished creating your character, you’ll be given the option to customize a Guardian. Here you’ll be presented with the same options you used for your own character but without the options for skills and classes. This has a lot of players confused, as they don’t know what choices to select in case it affects the outcome of the story. Thankfully, it seems that the choices you make here purely depend on your preference and doesn’t affect any relating to the story.
Who is the Dream Visitor Baldur’s Gate 3¶
We’ve only played up to the end of Act 1 and so far you’ll only ever see this Guardian in your dreams when you take a long a rest after using Illithid abilities, so if you want to increase your chance of triggering these scenes then you’ll want to make sure you keep making use of this Parasite and regularly return to your camp and take a long rest. If you still aren’t seeing it, then try progressing the story some more and try again. Additionally, it looks like you’ll never be able to add this Guardian to your Party.
