The Dig For Victory Trophy is one of the exploration trophies that you can unlock in Baldur’s Gate 3. To obtain it, you need to dig up five buried chests which are scattered throughout the three regions in the game. However, in order to dig up these chests you’ll need to obtain a Shovel and pass a Survival Check.
How to Obtain a Shovel in BG3¶
As mentioned above you’ll need to obtain a Shovel before you can embark on a quest to find buried treasure, so if you don’t already have one, then you can purchase one from the merchant Arron who is located in the Druid Grove. If you don’t fancy spending your hard earned Gold, then you can find a crate sitting inside a cart which can be found abandoned on the bridge just before you reach the Blighted Village.
Where to Find Buried Treasure in BG3¶
In order to find buried treasure you’ll need to explore every nook and cranny and occasionally your hero and companions will attempt to pass a Survival Check. If successful, then a small pile of dirt will reveal itself and then you can interact with it and your hero will dig up a chest. If for whatever reason you keep failing these checks, then you may want to keep creating quick-saves, so you can reload and try again. Additionally, there are enough buried chests within the first region to get you the trophy, but if you don’t, then don’t worry as there’s a lot more to be found within Act 2 and 3.
