The Chamber of Justice Puzzle is another one of the four puzzles you must solve as part of the Wyrmway secret level, or as part of Wyll’s storyline. This puzzle is largely the hardest, as players need to understand the journey of what brought this fair haired man to court. However, it is you who must decide the man’s sentence, and it shall need to be the most just one, without subverting the course of justice. How to Solve the Chamber of Justice Puzzle in Baldur’s Gate 3¶
The actual function of the Chamber of Justice puzzle requires you to view all of the paintings on the wall, and follow along the story of how one man went from petty criminal to the courthouse. It’s a bit of a roller coaster of events, so I recommend you do it, simply for lore reasons.
Once you’re done, you get brought to the Judge, the ghosts in the middle of the room, clouded in shadow. To solve the puzzle, you need to cast Remove Curse. We recommend going to camp, and grabbing Shadowheart if you can. Shadowheart and her cleric ways will be able to learn Remove Curse as default. If not, then you can get Gale to learn a Remove Curse scroll and then have him learn the spell, cast it, and remove the curses on the plaques.
Once you’ve sorted out how to Remove Curse, cast the spell on the shrouded plaques before the Judge. These will reveal three final paintings: The Cell, The Hanging, and The Freedom.
The answer to the puzzle is The Cell. Pick up that painting, approach the empty Niche, and place the Cell on that spot. You will therefore remove the dark Judger, and deliver a fair course of justice. Freedom is wrong because you let a petty criminal get away with one of the great sins of Baldur’s Gate. Meanwhile, Hanging is overkill, and is used by tyrants, as hanging a petty thief who stole an apple to feed an Urchin is an over the top punishment. So, a cell is a more logical answer to the man’s dilemma, You don’t over-punish the man, and you still let justice take its course.
Again, if you place the wrong painting, it’s time to fight more specters like all the other Chamber puzzles in the Wyrmway. Once you either place the right painting, or win another battle against the shadow guards, you can now move on to any other missing chamber puzzles, or head into the final room of the Wyrmway.
