Whilst you’re exploring in Baldur’s Gate 3 you’ll come across small holes and you’ll notice that you cannot enter them with your hero or companions, as they’re too big, so you’ll need to find an alternative way in. This page will take you through the necessary steps to entering these small spaces in order to claim the useful loot inside!
How to Enter Burrows in Baldur’s Gate 3¶
As mentioned above, whilst you’re exploring your party will have opportunities to pass a Perception check. If they do, then a burrow could be revealed. However, when you come across these burrows and try to interact with them your character will respond with something along the lines of that they are too big for it. You also don’t want to ignore these holes, as inside you can find some useful loot or it’ll give you access to a certain building/room without requiring a key. There are a couple methods you can use to get into these burrows and the most obvious option is switching to smaller animals, such as a Cat or Spider.
You can do this by summoning it with the Find Familiar Spell which is from the School of Conjuration. However, only Wizard, Fighter, Ranger and Warlock’s will have access to this ability. If you haven’t managed to unlock it yet, then checkout our How to Unlock the Find Familiar spell in Baldur’s Gate 3 page. Alternatively, if you have a Druid in your party, then you can use them to transform into small animals, such as Badgers and Spiders or you can use Gaseous Form to pass through.
