Thrumbo is a mysterious NPC you need to track down for a quest you start in Philgrave’s Mansion. You’re tasked with executing the dissident zombie, per the orders of the undead man in the rotting mansion. But, it’s not obvious where to find Thrumbo in Baldur’s Gate 3, but we are here to point you in the right direction.
How to Find Mystic Carrion’s Servant in Baldur’s Gate 3¶

When you accept Mystic Carrion’s quest, you must leave the Philgrave Mansion and travel along the beach to the east of the building. Follow the beach along until you get to a very small beach pier, with some fisherman and a Pagoda with two shady dealers. When you get close enough to the fisher’s dock, you will fight some “
Fish Fucks”, as the note on one of the fishy corpses describes them.
Now that’s done, you can find a small wooden building, marked with a Hatch icon on your minimap. Go up the stairs leading to the building and enter it. Note that the building is considered breaking and entering, so be mindful of the local fisherman booking before you enter the building.
Once inside, go up to the wardrobe, and out will run Thrumbo. You can now speak to Thrumbo, and decide what to do with Mystic Carrion’s Servant Thrumbo. Now you know the location of Thrumbo in BG3, you may decide to end this quest however you wish. If you choose to kill Thrumbo, you can complete the quest from Mystic Carrion and be able to get any help you need from him. If you choose to spare Thrumbo, you can return to Mystic Carrion.
If you happen to return to Mystic Carrion without killing Thrumbo, then he will know you spared him and get into a fight. It means having to deal with a lot of mummies, the Ghoul he has anyway, and himself. If you do that, you are going to need to break all of these weird item locations in an Ancient Lair, which is to the west end of the Undercity, which you access via a passageway near the Penitent Vendor near the Undercity fast travel waypoint. If you do happen to kill Mystic Carrion, then Thrumbo replaces him as the city’s undead servant for all things afterlife.
It’s important to decide what you want to do with Thrumbo when you find his location in BG3, as he potentially delays the Free The Artist quest located in the Lady’s manor on the west side of the Lower City, near the Baldur’s Gate Waypoint.
