Larian Studios has been hard at work implementing a method of changing your appearance in Baldur’s Gate 3. It is one of the most commonly requested features since launch and early access. The good news is that as of Patch 3, that is the case. Players can find a new Magic Mirror in their camp, allowing them to change their appearance in Baldur’s Gate 3.
How to Change Appearance in Baldur’s Gate 3¶
With the launch of Patch 3, players can now find a Magic Mirror in their camp. This Magic Mirror is a device players can approach like in Divinity Original Sin 2. Simply walk up to it, and then interact with the device. This will allow you to change your appearance in Baldur’s Gate 3 without using a mod.
You will be able to alter any of your appearance features for your character, featuring face, hairstyle, color and other features. So, if you’ve had other character envy for a while now, or perhaps you want to change that hairstyle for some awkward helmet clipping, then now is the chance to do just that. Perhaps you want to dye your hair to match your new and fancy armor dye color? It’s all back on the table now.
However, you won’t be able to change your class or other base character creation features. You will still need to go and see Withers about that if that’s something you want to do. This includes selecting subclasses, Deity, or other class related feature.
Players can expect to get their hands on Patch 3 on Friday, September 22. The patch is slightly delayed as everyone at Larian runs through QA to ensure this fabled patch hits well, and they don’t need to do any patch rollbacks. This happened with one of their post-launch patches. So, expect a biggie.
