This page offers a guide on how to find Arabella’s parents in the Shadowlands during Act 2 in Baldur’s Gate 3. On this page we’ll detail where to find Arabella to start this quest, then how to reach her parents. We also cover whether or not you can save them, as well as the rewards for completing this quest.
Where to Find Arabella¶
When you approach the gate to the graveyard area west of Masons Guild, you’ll come across the tiefling child Arabella who you met in Druid Grove when Kagha threatened her with a snake. As you talk to her you’ll discover she has magical powers as she keeps two Shadows at bay with a powerful spell. After, she’ll tell you she’s out alone in search of her parents, who have gone missing. She’ll ask for your help to find them and then wait in your camp until you bring her news of her parents.
Where to Find Arabella’s Parents¶
Arabella’s parents can be found inside the Hospital area of the House of Healing just up ahead. You can head through the main hospital door and then proceed down the hallway, taking a smaller door on the right into a room with beds and children’s toys. You’ll find a creepy nurse tending two dead bodies…the bodies of Arabella’s parents.
You can cast speak with undead and talk with the father and he’ll mention that Kevlor had betrayed them and they’d been abandoned when finding shelter. Additionally, you’ll also find out that they were killed by the nurses in the House of Healing. If you search Komira’s body, you can get an amulet called Komira’s Locket, which grants the wearer the ability to cast Dancing Light.
Can You Save Arabella’s Parents?¶
Unfortunately, there is no way to save Komira’s parents. It isn’t a timed event and no amount of speeding through to reach the House of Healing will prevent their deaths. When you arrive at the House of Healing they’ll always be found dead in the Hospital part.
Find Arabella’s Parents: Quest Reward and Outcome¶
When you’ve discovered her parents’ fate, return to your camp and talk with Arabella. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to tell her about her parents’ passing and she’s understandably very upset and initially, there won’t be any resolution. You’ll need to perform a long rest before you can talk to her again. When you do, you’ll find that Withers has decided that Arabella’s magic is powerful and she needs to go out into the world and find her purpose and that the Weave will guide her. Sounds a bit dangerous to send a kid out all alone but she does have powerful magic and seems pretty content to go.
As a reward for completing this quest, you’ll earn the ring Shadow Blade, which grants the wearer the ability to cast the level 2 illusion spell Shadow Blade.
