The third Act of Baldur’s Gate 3 is certainly the biggest with plenty of content for you to stumble upon. There are three large locations, one being "Rivington" iconRivington and the Wyrm Gate, the other being the Lower City, the biggest of them all, and the other being the Sewers and the Undercity. To help you progress through it, we have created an Act 3 Map in Baldur’s Gate 3, showcasing all of the questing areas you should visit, along with the trader locations, and any hatches to relevant places, or any secrets worth investigating for each region.

Lower City Map Baldur’s Gate 3

A Map of the Lower City in Baldur’s Gate 3

The Lower City is certainly the densest location in Baldur’s Gate 3. There are plenty of quests here, along with traders, and more. We have also marked any relevant traders worth looking for on the map. And, the Secret markers tend to contain the location, or at least the rough locations of where the "Counting House" iconCounting House keys are if you’re interested in getting access to some easy to steal loot.

Below we are listing all the locations where you should likely want to visit, along with the range of things to interact with.

  • House of Grief: "Shadowheart" iconShadowheart Companion Quest regardless of what you did with the Nightsong, along with a key location, and the Mirror of Loss. You can also get the "Viconia's Walking Fortress" iconViconia’s Walking Fortress too.

  • Lady Jannath’s Estate: If you free the Artist from the Zhentarim Hideout, then you can get a quest from this place. If you did, make sure to visit this location first, as it connects you to a quest from Philgrave’s mansion, which can make the quest order in the journal slightly buggy.

  • Elarrathin’s House: The home of Jeheira and can be useful if you saved and recruit Jaheira in Act 2.

  • The Lodge: If you manage to steal the Githyanki Egg from the Githyanki Creche in the Mountainpass and handed over the Owlbear Egg to the Paladin (Lady Esther) near the Lathandar Monastery, then you can find some more content relating to that side quest here.

  • Steel Watch Foundry: A location you need to visit as part of the main storyline dealing with Gortash. If you want to turn off the Steel Watchers, then you need to visit this location. Defeating the boss here also awards the "Gontr Mael" iconGontr Mael. This is a fairly long quest chain, and you can get some tips on the Steel Watch Foundry mission area here.

  • Flymm’s Cargo: A warehouse filled with Worg guards. But, there’s a secret hatch that takes you to the Iron Throne, an underwater prisoner, related to Wyll’s Storyline, Rescue The Grand Duke, and the Steel Watch Foundry main storyline quest.

  • !Water Queen’s House: The !Water Queen’s house has one side quest you can do, and a range of treasures to steal from the locked-off area, and in the cave by the beach where the rest of the cleric tribe is housed.

  • Facemaker Boutique: This is the main spot for the Investigate the Murders and Murder Tribunal questline progression.

  • The Blushing Mermaid: A regular inn in the lower city. Albeit, it does have some treasures in the basement, and relates to the quest you can start in the Old Garlow House, and the Quest called Save Varna that can start near the "Basilisk Gate Barracks" iconBasilisk Gate Barracks. The basement is also a location where you can get one of those keys for the Counting House.

  • Araj Oblodra: If you spoke to this crazy Drow girl trader called Araj Oblodra in "Moonrise Towers" iconMoonrise Towers in Act 2, then you can find her again making experimental potions to the building between the Mermaid and Lora’s House.

  • The Counting House: A place with lots of treasure to steal if you can break into the vaults. It is also a part of the Stone Lords and the Guild, which is a quest that starts from the Guild’s Sewers Sewers. It is also how you meet Minsc for the first time, so make sure to get that quest if you want him. If you fancy some mass theft, then you can try and sneak around the dock of the Counting House, where there are many guards and steal of the treasures along the docks and boats.

  • Old Garlow’s Place: The location you can visit depending on how you handled the Hag in Act 1 and is connected to the Save Varna questline if you get that.

  • Cazador’s Palace: You can access this via the Lower City Central Wall. Enter, then head north up the wall. You may need to get past the guards through any means necessary. Once you’re through, continue up the wall, and then you can access Cazador‘s Palace for "Astarion" iconAstarion’s personal quest, along with lots of loot and the keys to the Counting House.

  • !Sorcerer’s Sundries: The !Sorcerer’s Sundries is a location with a very good trader for caster gear. You can also find the "Markoheshkir" iconMarkoheshkir from the puzzle here if you do the Arcane Barrier puzzle, along with some other questline related stuff for "Gale" iconGale and if you saved the Nighstong as Lorroaken is interested in her. You can also get a new spell called "Danse Macabre" iconDanse Macabre if you do the Sorcerer’s Vaults Puzzle too.

  • "Devil's Fee" iconDevil’s Fee: If you intend to break into Raphael’s House of Hope for the "Orphic Hammer" iconOrphic Hammer, then you can visit the Devil’s Fee. The lady at the front will tell you about how to enter if you agree to Raphael’s deal of some kind. She is also a trader of some interesting Barbarian and caster gear, and there’s some other decent caster gear to steal from her in boxes upstairs. Entering the House of Hope can also give you legendaries like the "Gloves of Soul Catching" iconGloves of Soul Catching & the "Helldusk Armour" iconHelldusk Armour

  • Elfsong Tavern: Elfsong Tavern is the locations that the Emperor tells you to visit as part of his personal questline. You can also rent out an apartment for your Long Rests.

  • "Baldur's Mouth" iconBaldur’s Mouth: The location of the journalists bought by Gortash. If you enter the basement, you can get a mini quest from the printing press machine. It’s very silly, and not a real quest but it’s there if you want it.

  • Candulhallows: The small gravestone maker northeast of the Elfsong Tavern contains the entrance to the Murder Tribunal, where you can progress the Murder Tribunal Quest. Find the button behind the painting to get access to the location. This is a part of the main storyline. Make sure to visit the Facemaker’s Boutique to progress this stage of the quest.

  • Basilisk Barracks: Get the Save Varna Quest, which takes you to the Mermaid Tavern and the Old Garlow’s Place as part of the quest. Completing the quest chain and saving Varna awards the "Duellist's Prerogative" iconDuellist’s Prerogative.

Sewer Map Baldur’s Gate 3

A map of the sewer and the Undercity in Baldur’s Gate 3

The sewer is a tag on part of the Lower City, but, it does have its main storyline connections here. There’s not much of interest down here, with a few main and side story quests, along with some nice treasures to stumble upon.

  • Voss: Voss is found in the sewers, and you can visit him as part of the Githynaki storyline if you did the Monastery / Githyanki Creche mission with Lae’Zel. Once you have the Orphic Hammer, either by taking the deal with Raphael or stealing it from his House of Hope, then you can visit him. If you do, you get the "Silver Sword of the Astral Plane" iconSilver Sword of the Astral Plane.

  • Guild Hall: The Guild Hall is part of the make allies questline for the main storyline. If you visit this location, you can start a quest chain that takes you to the Counting House in the Lower City, which enables you to find and recruit Minsc, which is also part of the Jaheira storyline. Make sure to visit here if you want to recruit the final companion in the game.

  • Central Sewer: There is a small mini quest here, which requires you to get a Sarin’s Skull to complete. If you head into the Undercity and find the trader marked on the map above, you can get the skull from the pouch behind it.

  • Western Sewer: This location is the main area where you can find the Stone Guild, and the Zhentarium, who are allied with the Absolute. It is also the location you can rescue Minsc from.

  • Bhaal’s Temple: The temple is the location of Orin, who you need to beat as part of the main storyline for the Crown of Krasus. It is a key location for a personal storyline trigger to happen under the right circumstances, and also the rescue your ally part of the quest. Defeating Orin awards the "Crimson Mischief" iconCrimson Mischief and the "Bloodthirst" iconBloodthirst legendary weapons. Make sure to do the Murder Tribunal quest first though, as it makes entering this location a lot easier.

  • Morphic Pool Dock: The Morphic Pool Dock is the location you go to once you have gathered the three stones from all the Absolute leaders. This is where you go to start the epilogue of the game and fight the final boss, and the related battles getting to that point. Make sure you have got all the allies you want before continuing so you can get the endings and all the small details leading up to it that you want.

Rivington Map Baldur’s Gate 3

A Map of the Wyrm Gate and Rivington in Baldur’s Gate 3

Rivington is the first location you visit as part of the third Act. Here you will find many traders, and begin a series of side quests that you can explore, with most of them being connected to the main storyline in some way when you get to the Lower City and Sewers.

  • Rivington: Lots of traders here, along with some more lore for the refugees, Shadowheart and more. You can also find the Strange Ox again in the barn above the refugee camp.

  • Gur Camp: A type of refugee that has had encounters with Vampires. Once you’ve been here and got the Investigate the Vampires, you can long rest and have a vampire encounter as part of Astarion’s Storyline.

  • Circus: The Circus is a fun little area, with many traders around. You can also take part in the Genie’s mini game, and get your hands on the "Nyrulna" iconNyrulna legendary spear, if you steal the genie’s ring and then win the grand prize from the spin the wheel game.

  • Open Hand Temple: This is the start of the questline that takes you through the "Investigate the Murders" iconInvestigate the Murders quest chain. So visit there to cross the bridge into the Lower City.

  • Sword Coast Couriers: A small quest inside that grants you a side quest, which you can complete by climbing to the roof of the Open Hand Monastery.

  • Sharess’ Caress: Another location that you visit to continue Investigate the Murders. It is also where the detective goes to when you find more evidence after the Open Hand Temple. You can also find Voss here, and speak to Raphael about a deal for the Orphic Hammer for Lae’Zel’s storyline.

  • Fraygo Flaghouse: The location you need to visit for more information on the vampires and the investigate the murders. This also leads you to starting the Murder Tribunal as you arrive into the Lower City.

  • Wyrm’s Rock: This is a main location, with the assembly hall where you need to go to find Gortash and start Act 3’s main storyline properly. You can then then go to the top floor once you’ve done the Steel Watch Foundry and fight Gortash as part of the main storyline. If you head into the prison, there’s a quest that allows you to rescue a Counsellor, and get more progress on the Grand Duke. If you head into the jail, there’s also a secret passageway that leads you to a part of Wyll’s storyline, which you can see via the secret map marker on the prison. Turn off the lights and cast any form of magic at the light holders, and turn them back on to access it. Doing so awards the Baldurian Giantslayer and the "Helm of Balduran" iconHelm of Balduran after you solve all the chamber puzzles, such as the Chamber of Insight. There’s also a few traders here for the Flaming Fist, and some Flaming Fist loot to gain by stealing from locked equipment storage chests. There’s also a few secrets you can find via the rock the Wyrm gate is built in if you manage to access the secret hole in the prison wall or via the vines dangling from one of the Wyrmgate balconies. You can also get a bank key from a hidden safe behind a painting in Gortash’s bedroom.

This about sums up all the important locations worth knowing about in the Act 3 Map of Baldur’s Gate 3. Now you essentially have a checklist of all the important places to visit, what quests are worth doing, either for the Allies or the legendary gear rewards you get. You can also find some secrets and other optional side content worth taking a look at too.
