Hogwarts Legacy is bringing the magic of the movies and books into your hands, allowing you to control a wizard in the famous castle. You can cast spells, brew potions, fly mythical creatures and more.
However, while all of the above is true, many want to share this experience with another, or battle against other gifted wizards to be the superior spellcaster. We answer the question of whether you can play with others with this Hogwarts Legacy multiplayer guide.
Is Hogwarts Legacy Multiplayer?¶
There’s no question that Hogwarts Legacy would be perfect for a PVP experience, whether that be in 1v1 duelling, playing Quidditch, or battling with various mythical creatures. Not only this, but thanks to the game being a more open world environment, having areas where you can fight other wizards from around the world just makes sense.
Unfortunately, while all of the above could have been implemented, Portkey Games chose to make the game simple player only, no co-op or online play is present. This means that you’ll be traversing the lands alone, fighting against any adversaries armed with your trusty wand.
This is likely due to the sheer scope of the game with an abundance of elements incorporated into it. Moreover, having to balance different wands, gear, and more would be a huge headache and an incredible undertaking, something that both budgets and timescales probably didn’t allow.
For you still holding out hope for a multiplayer mode in Hogwarts Legacy, there is a dim, but present light at the end of the tunnel. The developers haven’t said that multiplayer isn’t a possibility later down the line, and it’s not like single player focused games haven’t got a multiplayer add-on before.
All we can do is wait and see and hope that some form of multiplayer is introduced as it can only add to the solid foundation this game has brought with it.
