There are quite a few beasts to catch in Hogwarts Legacy. In order to get them all, you will need to travel around the map looking for beast dens. There are several of these in each region, including in the Forbidden Forest. In fact, this region even has some of the rarest beasts in the game, making it a delight to use your Nab-sack in. The guide below goes over every beast den in the Forbidden Forest, where you can find them, and how to catch each beast.
All Beast Dens in The Forbidden Forest & How to Catch The Beast That Live There¶
There are a total of five beast dens in the Forbidden Forest, including the Unicorn den. If you are having trouble locating any of these beast dens, check out our Hogwarts Legacy Map for more help.
Unicorn¶
This is a beast that will take a bit of sneaking to catch as they can run quite fast. Be sure to use Levioso to hold them still. You may want to stop the catching process and hit them again with it in the middle. Keep in mind that there is only one Unicorn den in the entire game, and it’s located in the Forbidden Forest.
Puffskein¶
For these guys, you simply need to sneak up on them and use Accio to bring them close to you. This is arguably the most common creature in the game.
Hippogriff¶
Hippogriffs are another flying beast, and like Thestrals, you will need to sneak up on them with Dissolution and then use Levioso to hold them in place. The Hippogriff den is located near the center of the Forbidden Forest.
Giant Purple Toad¶
For these creatures, use Accio or Levioso to hold them still.
Mooncalf¶
These small creatures can be hit with Levioso and then safely sucked into the Nab-Sack without too much trouble. Remember that they only come out at night.
