The Tomes and Scrolls is one of your go-to stores for important items in Hogwarts Legacy. This is one of the first shops you will enter when you first visit Hogsmeade, and you will constantly return to it throughout the game. Here is everything you need to know about the Hogwarts Legacy’s Tomes and Scrolls shop, and what you can expect.
Tomes and Scrolls location in Hogwarts Legacy¶
Players can find the Tomes and Scroll shop in the southwest side of Hogsmeade village. It is the first named shop you can access in the region. If you’re teleporting into Hogsmeade, the closest Floo Flame is in the center of the village, where you’ll need to travel about 80 meters to reach the store.
When you get inside, you will be able to acquire one of the chest with eyeballs by using Disillusionment before enter the room behind the desk. There is also a demiguise statue in there too, which you can get at night, and if you have Alohomora unlocked.
Tomes and Scrolls Inventory¶
The main purpose of this store is to give you spellcraft recipes. This is an important part of the game, largely thanks to the need for the players to craft their own potions and grow their own plants. Once you get your hands on the Room of Requirement, you will need to buy some of these stations, such as the T shape potion station, and the various Large and Medium Pots stations to grow a wide array of plants for combat items or potion crafting.

Note, you will get more spellcrafts as you play the game. For example, Deeks will give you quest called Foal of the Dead, which will have you visit the Tomes and Scrolls shop and get a previously unaccessible spellcraft, the Breeding Pen.
Also, you will likely need to buy at least one of the large and medium pot spellcrafts to complete the Sharp and Garlick assignments. Sharps you can typically do by buying potions, but if you intend to use them in your build, then growing them is more cost efficient over time. You will be using large pots for Venomous Tentacula, and the Fluxweed Stems you need for assignments. Meanwhile, you will need mediums for the Chinese Chomping Cabbage. Remember to visit the Dogweed and Deathcap, and The Magic Neep for the seeds!
