You’ll first be introduced to Summoner’s Court during the main quest Charms Class, which is where you’ll be taught the Accio spell, the spell around which this minigame is based. For some students at Hogwarts, however, Summoner’s Court is more than a simple way to practice Accio - it’s a proper sport. This page will walk you through the side quest Summoner’s Court 1 in Hogwarts Legacy.
How to Start Summoner’s Court 1 in Hogwarts Legacy¶
This quest, for as simple as it is, will not start until after you’ve completed the main quest Trials of Merlin. After that, seek out a student named Leander Prewlett, who can be found on the grounds outside of The Bell Tower Wing - just travel to the Flying Class Lawn Floo Flame and you should find the Summoner’s Court board set up.
How to Win Summoner’s Court 1 in Hogwarts Legacy¶
The rules of Summoner’s Court are simple, each contestant has to use Accio to pull a ball towards them - the closer you get the ball, the more points you earn, but if the ball falls off the board, you get zero points. Each ball starts on the far side of the Summoner’s Court board, which is broken up by four colored sections:
- Red - 10pts
- Yellow - 20pts
- Green - 30pts
- Blue - 50pts
The goal is to pull the ball as close as possible without going over the edge. Where the ball stops determines how many points you get, and each player gets three balls. The player with the highest score after all three balls have been moved will win. For this particular bout, there are also five obstacles placed on the board, which will impede the ball’s movements.
The trick to Summoner’s Court is simple - stop using Accio on the ball well ahead of where you want it to end up, else the ball will roll off the board. In this case, you usually want to aim for the beginning or middle of the yellow (20pt) section, as the ball will then continue to roll onto the green (30pt) or blue (50pt) section. Obviously a bit of practice is necessary to get the feel for exactly when to stop, but Leander Prewlett isn’t a terribly competent opponent.
While knowing when to stop using Accio is arguably the most important consideration for this game, avoiding obstacles matters, too. Fortunately you’re not timed, so carefully line up your Accio pulls to ensure you’re drawing them between obstacles. Defeat the outmatched Leander to complete this quest.
