How to Change Time of Day in & What it Does Hogwarts Legacy¶

Changing the time of day in Hogwarts Legacy won’t make you miss out on any quests, but there are different things going on in the day compared to night. Classes can’t take place during darker hours, so if it’s night and you want to take your next class, you will need to wait until the sun rises. Luckily, many quests have a circle on the ground that you can walk into and press a button to automatically move the time forward.

If you need to do it manually though, then there is an option in your map for waiting. Please note that this doesn’t let you select the time of day. Instead, you will just move to the next main time frame. There are a few items that you can only collect during the night, as well as some that are only available during the daytime, so be sure to explore in and around Hogwarts at all times of the day.

What Do Changing Seasons Affect in Hogwarts Legacy¶

Season changes in Hogwarts Legacy are directly tied to story progression. As you get farther in the story, the season will naturally change, but this doesn’t really affect anything. All quests and collectibles are still available, although the landscape will look different. If anything, you should look forward to unlocking the next season, as a slew of new sidequests and collectibles will become available as you make it further into the game.
