Phoenix Rising is the final Deek quest and will nab you the last beast you need to complete your Vivarium collection. This quest is generally pretty easy to navigate, but unlocking it can be a bit confusing as it’s locked behind quite a few other quests, some of which are side quests. The guide below goes over how to complete Phoenix Rising in Hogwarts Legacy, and everything you need to know about the Phoenix.
How to Start Phoenix Rising in Hogwarts Legacy¶
To start Phoenix Rising, you must make it to Winter and complete the following Deek quests.
Deek’s second and third quests are side quests that you must pick up in the Room of Requirement. Once you have made it to Winter, speak with Deek in the Room of Requirments to start the quest. It picks up talking about the same Phoenix he mentioned before, only this time. Deek will be sending you to the bird’s cave to catch it using your Nab-sack and bring it back.
Phoenix Rising Walkthrough¶
Like Deek’s other quests, this is pretty straightforward. The Phoenix’s cave is located near Poidsear Coast in Phoenix Mountain Cave. If you haven’t been to this area before, please note that you have to go through a small tunnel filled with goblins to reach this area. There is a Floo Flame right outside of the cave. Grab it and head in. Once inside, the path is linear, and you will be fighting two types of enemies, poachers, and spiders.
To deal with both of these, equip a good balance of damage and movement control spells like Stupefy to keep things under wraps while fighting. The cave is also a bit short, and after a few minutes inside, you will see the Phoenix and begin climbing up some slopes in the cave to catch up to it. The closer you get to the Phoenix, the fewer poachers you will see and the more spiders, so adjust your equipped spells accordingly.
Once you reach the other side of the cave, the Phoenix will be sitting on a rock. All you need to do is press the button to activate your Nab-sack to catch him. Afterward, follow the path behind the Phoenix perch to quickly exit the cave and head back to Deek. Once you show him the Phoenix, the fourth and final Vivarium will be open, and the bird will fly inside.
Can You Breed or Catch Another Phoenix¶
No, this is the only Phoenix in the game. Additionally, there is no Shiny Phoenix, and you won’t be able to breed it. It also provides Phoenix Feather, a rare resource, so make sure you harvest it regularly. After this is completed, you should have caught or at least have access to every beast in the game aside from the Graphorn, depending on how far you are in the game’s main story.
