This page offers a guide on how to solve the bell puzzle at Clagmar Castle during the Solved by the Bell side quest in Hogwarts Legacy.
How to Start Solved by the Bell¶
In order to start this quest, you’ll first need to find the Musical Map. The Musical Map is not easily obtained though! In order to find it, you’ll need to head into Henrietta’s Hideaway. Though you can go into the dungeon at any point, you may as well start the Rescuing Rococo side quest as it’ll take you to here.
You’ll find the magical map in one of the final rooms of the hideaway, and you’ll need to complete several puzzles to reach the room with the map. Head over to our guide for information on How to Solve all the Henrietta’s Hideaway puzzles!
Musical Map Treasure Location - Clagmar Castle¶
The map is not entirely clear on where you need to head, but that’s what we’re for! The location in question is Clagmar Castle, found in the Clagmar Coast region, in the south. This area is quite high level, so you might have a bit of an issue with the enemies in the castle. In this castle you’ll also find the Infamous Foe, Silvanus Selwyn and several Ashwinder enemies.
Before you can solve the bell puzzle, you’ll likely want to clear out the enemies, including the infamous foe. This is a large enemy camp so you’ll want to keep the fight contained by not moving around the area too much. The bells you’re looking for are in the southwest region of the portion of the castle but you’ll also find Silvanus Selwyn here too!
How to Solve the Bell Puzzle in Clagmar Castle¶
So now’s the fun part! What exactly are you meant to play on these bells? Well, for those of you who’ve watched the movies, you’ll know of the iconic Harry Potter theme tune - and that’s exactly what you’ll want to play!
In order to play the theme tune, you’ll need to hit the bells with basic spells in a precise order. If you wish to start again, you’ll need to hit the bells 8 times to reset it. If you didn’t know already you can actually aim your basic spells, so you avoid hitting the wrong ones. See below the right sequence:
Thankfully, you don’t need to play the tune with the right rhythm or anything, just need to play the right bell sequence!
