This page will offer all the information you need on what platforms you can play Hogwarts Legacy and when you can play them! You’ll find information on release dates for each individual platform, whether it’s on Xbox Game Pass and Steam Deck, and more!
Hogwarts Legacy Release Date¶
Hogwarts Legacy will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. That being said, the game has a few different release dates depending on your console and whether you buy the Deluxe Edition. Below, you’ll find the dates for all platforms:
- Deluxe Edition: 7th of February, 2023: PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series (last-gen and switch players who purchase the deluxe edition will not have early access).
- 10th of February, 2023: PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series.
- 4th of April, 2023: Xbox One, PlayStation 4.
- 25th of July, 2023: Nintendo Switch.
Is Hogwarts Legacy on Game Pass?¶
Unfortunately, Hogwarts Legacy will not be available on Xbox Game Pass when its released or in the near future. Given that PlayStation players will get a exclusive pre-order bonus and an exclusive side quest, it would seem that the people behind Hogwarts Legacy have struck a better deal with PlayStation, so it’s unlikely we’ll see Hogwarts Legacy on Game Pass any time soon.
Is Hogwarts Legacy Steam Deck Compatible?¶
It has indeed been confirmed by the Avalanche Software dev team that Hogwarts Legacy will be Steam Deck compatible. Whether or not it plays well is another matter, but it’s good to hear that they’ve taken into account the latest handheld console! We’ve got our fingers crossed on that one.
Head over to our page on PC Performance issues for why we’re nervous about the Steam Deck gameplay!
Is Hogwarts Legacy Cross Platform?¶
Whilst the game is coming to all major platforms, you will not be able to play your saves across platforms. This means you’ll want to choose carefully whether you want to play on PC, Next-Gen Console or get cosy with the Switch! The good news is that you can have four separate character saves, meaning you could play the game multiple times and choose all four different houses
