As you would expect, in Hogwarts Legacy, the spells you learn as a student are the key to not only unlocking various puzzles around the various regions, but also dispatching any enemies in your path.
Now, while some of these include Levioso, or Glacius for example, not doing any physical damage to foes, there some others that pack a serious punch. One of these is Diffindo, a Damage spell that can be utilised to cause some serious harm to those in front of you.
This guide will take you through how to get Diffindo in Hogwarts Legacy as well as how best to use it so you can get the most out of this Damage spell.
How To Get Diffindo In Hogwarts Legacy¶
If you’re looking to get a bit of Diffindo action in your magical Hogwarts Legacy life, you’re going to have to play a bunch to learn it. This is because it’s not an ‘early’ unlock, and you’ll have to progress both the main story as well as complete a side quest to do so.
The side quest in question here is Professor Sharp’s Assignment 2 which tasks you to use a couple of potions and gain a better understanding of how they work. The potions that you’ll be using here are the Invisibility Potion and Thunderbrew Potion which can either be bought from J. Pippins Potions or brewed yourself, saving a bit of cash.
Once you have your hands on both potions, you’ll have to use them to please Professor Sharp, completing this Assignment. Upon returning to the Professor, he will teach you the Diffindo spell, ready for you to use at your will.
How To Use Diffindo In Hogwarts Legacy¶
Diffindo is known for its damage inflicting and this certainly carries over to Hogwarts Legacy. If you choose to use this Damage spell, you’ll be cutting adversaries down left, right, and centre.
For our recommendation of how to use Diffindo, we suggest that you open battles with it. If you do so, you’ll be able to take a huge chunk of health off of them, or even incapacitate them in one fell swoop, allowing you to focus on other enemies, or finish the fight altogether.
Using Diffindo against strong enemies, or even bosses is also a good idea, taking a decent chunk of HP off saving you both time as well as reducing the risk of you dying.
The one main weakness of Diffindo however is that it has a long recharge time which can be annoying if you’re getting bombarded by attacks. While unfortunate, this does kind of make sense since the sheet amount of damage you’re able to inflict using it. You can mitigate this somewhat by spending a Talent Point in Basic Cast Mastery which reduces cooldowns when using your basic spell.
If you want to further enhance the Diffindo spell in Hogwarts Legacy, making it even more potent, you can spend a Talent Point on Diffindo Mastery.
This Diffindo Mastery, boosts its usability against multiple combatants, allowing you to inflict more damage as a whole. This is obviously perfect in situations where you’re up against a few different enemies at the same time, enhancing its overall usability.
