Metaphor: ReFantazio takes place in the Kingdom of Euchronia where you’ll find all manner of people populating it. There are 14 of these characters that can become Followers and while some are simple to unlock, seven of them are reserved for your party members. Eupha is the sixth character to join the party after the events at Virga Island, keep reading to learn how to rank up Eupha and what abilities and Archetypes she unlocks.

Eupha unlocks the Summoner Archetype in Metaphor: ReFantazio.

Unlocking the Eupha Follower Bond

As the party make their way to the Virga Islands in search of the Divine Relic, Drakadios, they’ll run into the mysterious Priestess, Eupha. Before long, you’re tasked with heading to the Dragon God Temple to find and rescue her. Following the events there, Eupha will finally join the party, although unlike the first four party members, you’ll have to wait a little before you can unlock her Bond.

On a free day following the events at the temple, speak to Eupha to accept the Trial of Malnova Side Quest. Before you set off for the Land of Ceremony labyrinth, have Edeni clear the bad weather, otherwise you’re going to be dealing with some nasty disadvantages such as not being able to take advantage of Weaknesses. Once you reach the end of the dungeon, you’ll have to defeat Homo Pento, a Level 50 Human weak to Fire. Once you finish the quest, you will finally unlock Eupha’s Bond.

(1 of 2) Be sure to have Edeni change the weather before setting off on the Trial of Malnova quest.

Eupha Rank up Events and Abilities

There is a total of eight Rank Up events for Eupha and as mentioned above, all of them are optional (including unlocking the Bond). The table below will detail how to get each Rank for Eupha and the ability it unlocks.

Rank Conditions Abilities
1 Complete The Trial of Malnova Side Quest after finishing the story Operation at Virga Island Summoner Archetype
2 Speak to Eupha on a free day, during the day Summoner Enlightenment (decreases MAG cost to study), Pagan Teachings (reduce the chance of the party being inflicted with anxiety)
3 Speak to Eupha on a free day, during the day (after waiting at least one full free day first) Scion’s Skill (Summoner Skill Inheritance Slots to 2), Battle Aura (increases exp in reserves)
4 Speak to Eupha on a free day, during the day (after waiting at least one full free day first) Summoner Veneration (significantly decreases MAG cost to study)
5 Speak to Eupha on a free day, during the day (after waiting at least one full free day first) Scion’s Merit (Summoner Skill Inheritance Slots to 3)
6 Speak to Eupha on a free day, during the day (after waiting at least one full free day first). Requires Eloquence Rank 4 Summoner Archetype: Elite (Unlocks Devil Summoner)
7 Complete Eupha’s quest, Wayward Shepherd (available from 9/26 onward) and then speak to her on the next free day. Requires Wisdom Rank 5 Battle Hypnosis (earn EXP in reserves at normal rate)
8 Speak to Eupha while traveling on the Gauntlet Runner Scion’s Essence (Summoner Skill Inheritance Slots to 4), Pagan Secrets (further reduces the chance of the party being inflicted with anxiety), Grand Fantasy (Unlocks Royal Summoner)

A lot of Eupha’s Bond Events echoes Junah’s for the most part, switching out events at night for events during the day. You’ll have to complete the Trial of Malnova Side Quest to get the Bond rolling, and then it’s smooth sailing from there until you hit Rank 6, where it becomes a bit more difficult. You’ll need to have Eloquence at Rank 4 and then, for the following Bond Event, you’ll not only need Wisdom at Rank 5, but you’ll also have to complete a challenging Side Quest, Wayward Shepherd in Mt. Vulkano. This area won’t unlock until the final set of free days starting 9/26.

Rank 1 Ability - Summoner Archetype

Alongside Junah’s Archetype, the Masked Dancer, the Summoner Archetype is one of the most unique Archetypes in Metaphor: ReFantazio. Much like Masked Dancer, you can craft Vessels with More in Akademia to unlock new summons, which cover most elements and usually come with a secondary effect too. Even more potent are the Synthesis Abilities which usually hit the entire group of enemies making Eupha and the Summoner Archetype a force to be reckoned with.

Rank 2 Abilities - Summoner Enlightenment and Pagan Teachings

Much like the Enlightenment abilities for the other Bonds, this will decrease the cost of studying Summoner Archetypes. Even though there are only two Archetypes in this tree, they’re expensive to study so this is useful to make this more manageable.

Pagan Teachings will help in those moments when your Weakness is struck or you’re ambushed by the enemy and find yourself with anxiety. With this ability, this will decrease the chance that this will impact your characters in those situations, especially useful when this appears during a boss encounter.

Rank 3 Abilities - Scion’s Skill and Battle Aura

Scion’s Skill is the first in the series of Scion abilities that grant you an extra Inheritance Slot. This is very useful for the Summoner as it will give you the ability to grant Eupha more support-style skills to go along with her arsenal of powerful attack skills.

Eupha is the sixth party member to join, and as such, you’re ultimately going to have to leave at least two members in the reserves, where they will gain less EXP than the main battle party. The Battle Aura ability will ensure that you gain a bit more EXP when in those reserves so consider keeping Eupha in your main party until you at least unlock this ability.

Rank 4 Ability - Summoner Veneration

This is the upgrade to the Summoner Enlightenment ability that decreases the cost of MAG to study the Archetypes here. The Elite Archetype for Summoner is very expensive, so decreasing that cost a bit is massively helpful.

Rank 5 Ability - Scion’s Merit

The second in the Scion’s series of abilities, this one will give you three Skill Inheritance slots for any Summoner Archetype. With this, you can now make any Summoner more versatile and cover most bases.

(1 of 2) You will need to increase your Eloquence for Eupha’s Rank 6 Bond event.

Rank 6 Ability - Summoner Archetype: Elite

If the Persona Master is a reference to the Persona series, the Devil Summoner, then, is a reference to the Shin Megami Tensei series. You’ll have a new set of Vessels you can craft with More in Akademia and each of these are based on various demons from both, such as Jack Frost and Asura. Naturally, these are very powerful skills and the Synthesis Abilities can often end most regular battles with a single cast (at least on the Normal difficulty). Outside of the special Archetypes, this is arguably one of the better ones in Metaphor: ReFantazio, even if it’s heavy on MP.

Rank 7 Ability - Battle Hypnosis

Just like Battle Aura before it, this is another ability that will ensure that whenever Eupha isn’t in the main battle party, she’ll still earn EXP at the same rate as anyone in the main party. Seeing as there are a total of seven party members, this makes it so Eupha won’t be underleveled.

Rank 8 Abilities - Scion’s Essence, Pagan Secrets, and Grand Fantasy

Scion’s Essence is the final Scion ability, bringing you up to four skills you can inherit on Summoner Archetypes. Pagan Secrets is the upgrade to Pagan Teachings, further increasing the chance that you won’t be afflicted with anxiety when your Weakness is stuck or you’re ambushed in battle.

Grand Fantasy will remain a mystery to you until the events on 9/23, where you’ll then gain access to the Royal Archetypes, for which Eupha’s will be the Royal Summoner. This isn’t as great an investment to unlock as Heimsay and Hulkenberg’s, but it will require you to max out the Soul Hacker (the Elite Archetype of the Seeker) alongside Devil Summoner to get access to it. The Royal Summoner will make what used to be Synthesis Abilities into regular skills, such as the Summon Dragon God skill, while also adding new modified versions of some of the best summons such as being able to revive all allies with full HP!

There you have it; all of Eupha’s Bonds and Abilities in Metaphor: ReFantazio. While you can have Eupha take on any Archetype, keeping her in the excellent Summoner Archetypes is the ideal route, just remember to spend time in Seeker, Magic Seeker, and Soul Hacker so you can unlock Royal Summoner near the end of the adventure.
