Metaphor: ReFantazio

Increasing the Eloquence Royal Virtue

By
Ben Chard

The Tournament for the Throne has many activities you’ll have to manage your time carefully around and raising your Royal Virtues is one of the most important. These are mainly needed for ranking up your Followers and there are five of them in total. Eloquence is all about how effective you are at speaking to the people, so keep reading to learn what activities there are to raise it and how many points you can expect from them.

Speaking to Activists or debating on Podiums are the main ways to increase the Eloquence Royal Virtue in Metaphor: ReFantazio.

How to Raise Eloquence

As you may expect from the name of this stat, raising Eloquence is all about situations where you can display your public speaking. As such, you’ll need to make use of the podiums situated around the kingdom of Euchronia and debate against your fellow candidates. Unlike both Courage and Wisdom that has some automatic sources, for Eloquence you’re going to have to go out of your way in your free time.

The table below will list every activity and quest that raises Eloquence in Metaphor: ReFantazio, along with how many points you can expect for each:

Activity First Available Location Points
Listen to the Activist 6/12 Grand Trad: Sunshade Row 2
Grand Trad Podium 6/12 Grand Trad: Regalith Grand Cathedral 4
Read Pride and Persuasion 6/24 While traveling on the Gauntlet Runner 4/4/4 and 4 for finishing the book
Martira Podium 6/29 Martira: Stairstone Market 4
Port Brilehaven Podium 7/23 Port Brilehaven: Merchants’ Bazaar 5
Virga Islands Podium 8/19 Virga Islands 6
Listening to Junah sing 8/19 While traveling on the Gauntlet Runner at night 6
Altabury Heights Podium 9/13 Altabury Heights: Blue Sky Bridge 7
Watch The Stripling and his Stewards at the Opera House 9/26 Altabury Heights: Opera House 7
Grand Trad Podium (this changes in the last set of free days) 9/26 Grand Trad: Regalith Grand Cathedral 8
Completing specific Side Quests Varies

As with most Royal Virtues, they become much easier to gain points for as you reach the later stages of the adventure. You may notice that you can get a lot of points from the various podiums across Euchronia but bear in mind you’ll get less if you don’t answer the question correctly. As a result, consider saving your game before interacting with a podium, if you don’t get the values stated in the table above, you didn’t give the correct answer.

The Opera House offers a great alternative to get large increases of Eloquence late in the adventure.

Eloquence Rank Unlocks

As mentioned at the top, you’ll need to raise Eloquence to enhance some of your Bonds, more specifically, that of Heismay, Eupha, Basilio, and Bardon. The table below shows what becomes available at each Rank of Eloquence.

Rank Unlocks
1
2 Heismay Rank 2
3 Bardon Rank 5
4 Eupha Rank 6
5 Basilio Rank 8

There you have it; everything you need to know about the Eloquence Royal Virtue in Metaphor: ReFantazio. You now know what all of the activities you can undertake to raise this stat and complete many Follower Bonds.
