Certification Battle¶
Enemy | Level | Rewards |
---|---|---|
Crag Manjula | 33 | 25,000 Reeve |
Before you can even dive into the League Battles, you’ll first need to complete the Certification Battle. This will see you up against a Lv 33 Crag Manjula, a beast you’ve probably already fought in other places. The Crag Manjula will Null Fire and Resist physical attacks, so look to attack it with any of the other elements to deal with it. As with many battles, having a Knight direct attacks their way is key, just make sure they’re not weak to Electric or Pierce Attacks.
Your reward for victory in the Certification Battle is the 25,000 Reeve you get for completing the quest.
Bronze III Battle¶
Enemy | Level | Rewards |
---|---|---|
Goborn King | 38 | Man O’War Gloves |
Goborn Esto | 35 | – |
Manhunter Goborn Esto | 35 | – |
Just like the previous battle, this is another one that mimics a previous Bounty, namely that against the Goborn King. As you should know by now against Goborns, they have no real discernible weakness or resistances, and given you’re up against a large group here, consider using someone like Strohl as a Swordmaster to hit the group with Raging Edge. On Normal, two casts of this will mostly wipe out the entire group, leaving just the King with little HP remaining. The Goborn Hexer will use group Electric attacks against you, so prepare accordingly and target it first if you can.
Your reward for victory in the Bronze III Battle are the Man O’War Gloves, Gear that will grant +3 Strength and Magic along with preventing Paralysis.
Bronze II Battle¶
Enemy | Level | Rewards |
---|---|---|
Gangaflos | 35 | Blessed Water x10, Graced Water x5, Heavenly Water x2 |
Serpetias | 35 | – |
Your next battle is a little different to the ones that came before it, as you won’t be fighting a Squad Battle. Instead, you’ll find yourself in the arena running around using the action combat system. Make sure you have a healing skill inherited so you can heal yourself and then don’t get too greedy when you go in for the attack, take a few swipes and then dodge away. Remember that you can’t access the menu in this battle, but you can use Auto Recovery to heal the party.
Your reward for victory in the Bronze II Battle is a collection of Water needed to purify your gear at the St. Fermis Church in Grand Trad. This is a lucrative reward as these Waters can be tough to get your hands on, especially Heavenly Water.
Bronze I Battle¶
Enemy | Level | Rewards |
---|---|---|
Vesp | 38 | Fortune’s Grasp, Rainbow Bathblossom |
Nocross | 38 | – |
The final battle in the Bronze League has another interesting gimmick to it, you’re only going to have access to the protagonist for the battle. This far simpler than it may initially sound, especially if you have access to the Sniper Archetype (the Gunner will suffice too) as both of these enemies are weak to Pierce. Keep yourself in the back row and use either Myriad Shots or Wild Salvo, this will also hit the weakness of the enemies, given you an extra turn. Make sure you have healing skill equipped for security, otherwise, it’s smooth sailing.
Your reward for victory in the Bronze I Battle is the Fortune’s Grasp Gear, an impressive piece of gear that will be useful for your entire adventure. When equipped, it grants the wearer Luck +10 and 1.5x A-EXP from battles, this will make leveling other Archetypes much easier.
Silver III Battle¶
Enemy | Level | Rewards |
---|---|---|
Platinum Homo Tenta | 45 | Miracle Igniter |
Ochre Homo Tenta | 45 | – |
Homo Tenta | 45 | – |
Azure Homo Tenta | 45 | – |
Golden Homo Tenta | 45 | – |
A trip to the dentist for your first battle in the Silver League, you’re up against the whole Homo Tenta family. As the colors may lead you to believe, each of these teeth will have a different elemental weakness. While you could take the time to target them one-by-one, it’s much more efficient to have Strohl use group-wide attacks such as Raging Edge from the Swordmaster (or Vorpal Blade from Samurai). Just remember to keep your Knight taunting the group to protect the rest of the team.
Your reward for victory in the Silver III Battle is the Miracle Igniter, an accessory that will allow you to cast Mage Revival which does exactly what it says, revives a party member.
Silver II Battle¶
Enemy | Level | Rewards |
---|---|---|
Goborn | 45 | Hero’s Jewelled Root x5 |
Gargoz | 45 | – |
Orgo | 45 | – |
As what’s becoming a trend now with the second battle in each Ranked League, you’ll be fighting this one without a Squad Battle. The same tactics apply here as all of the others, make sure you have a way of healing and don’t get greedy with your attacks so you can dodge after a few strikes. Ideally, you want your Protagonist on a class with a strong weapon, such as the Seeker Archetypes, as you have 1 minute 30 seconds to defeat all of the enemies.
Your reward for victory in the Silver II Battle are five Hero’s Jewelled Roots, these are the best version of the Archetype exp items, granting 3,000 A-EXP for each one.
Silver I Battle¶
Enemy | Level | Rewards |
---|---|---|
Coliseum Mage | 50 | Full Moon Medal, Chain of Bonds |
Coliseum Fighter | 50 | – |
The final battle in the Silver League is another gimmick battle, but this time, you will be allowed one extra party member in with you. The twist, however, is that both party members must be of the Brawler Lineage, something that may cause a bit of a problem if you’ve never invested in the much. If you can, have someone be one of the higher tier Brawler Archetypes, otherwise consider saving this battle for later.
The Coliseum Mage is weak to Pierce, but will resist most magic, while the Coliseum Fighter is resistant to most physical attacks but is weak to Light. For this reason, make sure someone has access to the Hama spells and a way to heal yourself, as the Brawler Archetype uses HP for many of its attacks. Beware of the fact that either one will power itself up once the other falls, so if you can, try to aim to take them down around the same time.
Your reward for victory in the Silver I Battle is the Full Moon Medal, an accessory that will grant large MP recovery every combat round, and the Chain of Bonds, that makes it easier to use passives that require multiples of the same Archetype.
Gold III Battle¶
Enemy | Level | Rewards |
---|---|---|
Lina | 60 | Jade Jian (can purify into Heavenly Breeze) |
The first battle in the Gold League starts off with a challenging one, a one-on-one battle with the protagonist and Lina. Seeing as Lina is Level 60 and the final battles in this League are around Level 70, it’s best waiting until you get access to the exclusive Archetype for the protagonist, Prince.
Lina can both buff herself and debuff you, while also using physical attacks against you, something Prince will help with. Be sure to inherit a healing skill for emergencies, otherwise, skills like Heroic Slash and Radiance will make short work of her. Just remember to stop using Radiance if she puts up a magic shield.
Your reward for victory in the Gold III Battle is the Jade Jian, a sword that you can purify into the Heavenly Breeze, one of the best swords in the game for the Seeker/Prince Archetypes. Not only does it boast an Attack Power of 420, but it also gives you Magic +5 and significantly increases the damage of Wind attacks.
Gold II Battle¶
Enemy | Level | Rewards |
---|---|---|
Kokasados | 62 | Hero’s Jewelled Root x 10 |
Leogryph | 62 | – |
You should be used to this by now, the second battle for the Gold League is another one that is without a Squad Battle. This time, however, there’s a gimmick to the battle, as you won’t be able to be hit once or it’s curtains. That said, this is far simpler than it sounds as the Prince Archetype makes these battles much easier, just be sure to bait the attacks of your enemy first and then close in and take them out. You’ll also be boosted by the fact that there’s no time limit to worry about.
Your reward for victory in the Gold II Battle are 10 Hero’s Jewelled Roots, the A-EXP item that gives you 3,000 A-EXP a pop. This can do some serious work into leveling up some of your Archetypes as you look to get the Royal Archetypes on your whole party.
Gold I Battle¶

Homo Luano | 75 | Gambler’s Manual, Overlord’s Sash |
This is it, the final Ranked League battle at the Varmareno Coliseum, and you’ll be taking on a Human. The Homo Luano is one of the highest level enemies in the game at Level 75 and will resist everything. This leaves you with a few choices on how to tackle the battle:
-
Use the Prince Archetype’s Royal Sword Synthesis Skill. This hits very hard and only requires two party members, this is probably your best method for dealing damage, especially if you debuff it first.
-
Use the Masked Dancer Archetypes to inflict a weakness and then strike it. This requires a bit more setup, but will allow you to score some extra Turns.
-
Use Ignore Resistance attacks, such as many of those found in Synthesis Skills or the Royal Berserker. If you’ve invested a lot in Basilio’s Royal Berserker, this can easily rival the first option.
Whatever you decide to do, make sure you have a way to heal as the Homo Luano will spend its turns inflicting weaknesses and striking them on the next turn. You can also guard to avoid the person being hit with the weakness on the next turn to make it even easier.
Your reward for victory in the Gold I Battle is the Gambler’s Manual, one of the best accessories in the game. When equipped, any Critical Hit that character deals will be doubled so if you slap on passives which increase that rate, expect some serious damage (we hit 10,000+ damage using Royal Sword at one point). You’ll also get an Overlord’s Sash which will increase the strength of Synthesis Skills at the expense of the MP cost.
Become Champion of the Coliseum¶

Guptauron | 70 | Yggdrasil Crown, 90,000 Reeve |
The fun’s not over yet, just when you thought you were already the champion, there’s one final obstacle for you to overcome. Don’t let the fact that the Guptauron is a lower level than the previous encounter, as there’s a gimmick attached to this battle. You must take out the Guptauron in two turns or less, something that adds a bit more pressure to the encounter.
As you might expect, ignore defense and go on the offensive in this battle, you should be able to survive a round of attacks from the Guptauron at this stage of the game. The goal, then, is to buff yourself and debuff the enemy, and then go for one or two hard-hitting attacks to take it out quickly. The following strategy worked for us below:
- Use Debilitate
- Use the Peerless Stonecleaver Synthesis Skill between the Prince and Royal Warrior Archetypes (make sure Strohl has the Overlord’s Sash equipped)
- Have the protagonist use Hero’s Cry for extra turns if it’s not defeated yet
- Repeat the above steps
Using this strategy, the Guptauron did not survive the first combat round. With your victory sealed, you’ll obtain the Yggdrasil Crown which boasts 130 Def, Magic +5, and prevents all mental status ailments (Daze, Forget, Sleep, and Rage).
There you have it; you now know how to complete every battle in the Coliseum’s Ranked League. The fun doesn’t stop there though, if you’re looking for the Coliseum Champion Trophy/Achievement, you’ll need to take on and win the Gold Gauntlet Challenge!
