Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance

Thief

Portrait Description
Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance Screenshot Stealing is a traditional skill that has been passed down since ancient times. The Thieves Guild is the largest trade union in the Netherworlds, and can be hired to steal anything. In recent years, they have found ways to steal the emotions and abilities of people.

The Thief is one of the better, and more unique, classes in the game. In order to unlock the Thief, you need to get a Brawler to Rank 2 (Martial Artist or Fight Mistress), then complete the corresponding quest from the Quest Shop. If you plan on stealing items from enemies at all, then you will want a Thief in your party. The reason for this is because their unique Evility, Thief Skills, makes it so the success rate for stealing is doubled. You see, all other characters in the game only have a max rate of 50% for stealing, while the Thief can have a max stealing rate of 99%.

Outside of stealing items, they can also steal stats from enemies, as well as instantly destroy a chest (and get the item inside), without having to deplete its HP. Outside of their utility role, Thieves aren’t the best, although they do have a really good SPD stat. Their SP, INT and HIT aptitudes are decent, too, but they suffer from pretty low HP and the rest of their stats are nothing to write home about. They are good with both Bows and Guns, so take your pick on which to use, although their stats make them better with Guns.

Evilities

The Thief’s unique Evility is called Thief Skills, and it multiplies the success rate of stealing by doubling it. That means you can achieve a maximum rate of 99% when stealing with a Thief. Outside of that, it depends on what you want to do with your Thief, as it can be more of a utility class. If you are going through the Item World, then Lucky Finger is a great Evility to have equipped to her. You might also give her Treasure Hunt, but that would require the Thief to be able to defeat enemies. Chimera Angel (from Artina, so requires DLC) will increase the RARE of an item that’s stolen by 20, which will be something you want on a Thief.

To make the Thief into a killing machine, adding Flying Bullets is great, as that gives her unlimited range with a Gun. There’s also anything that gives a blanket increase to stats, like Violence or Heavy Stance. With Flying Bullets, adding Accelerated Shot will give her more damage the farther away you are from an enemy. If you are close to enemies, then you can also add the Valkyrie’s Assault Attack Evility once you move away from them.
