Battle¶
In order to unlock Valvatorez as a playable unit, you need to finish all of the maps found under The Prinny Coach. Valvatorez is a good character to have from the beginning of the game, although unlocking him at that point might be a bit challenging, due to the nature of his maps. He has a good Overload that makes him a potential solo powerhouse, as well as a great Unique Evility. His highest stat aptitude is his ATK and he’s good with either Swords or Spears, so you could go either route there. Note that the first two skills in both sets (normal and Tyrant form) will heal Valv, so that makes him even better.

Overload¶
Valvatorez’s Overload is called Tepes Nightmare, which allows him to become Tyrant Valvatorez for three turns. While he is a Tyrant, any enemy he defeats will instantly come back as an AI-controlled ally. He doesn’t gain any actual stats from the transformation, so don’t think you’re going to get a huge buff from it. The Overload is actually not too bad, since you do get some extra allies to help out during the battle, plus the transformation does allow him access to three extra skills.
Evilities¶
Valvatorez’s unique Evility is called Absorption, which allows him to absorb 20% of the stats of enemies he personally defeats in combat. While the stats he gains only last for that one battle, it is a great Evility that effectively makes him a fantastic solo character, if you want to go that route. Unlocking and using Valvatorez during the main story makes this Evility even better. Prinny Instructor is Valv’s first common Evility and it can be a great one for leveling up characters. What you need to do is either put a bunch of characters in the Prinny Squad, or equip the Prinny Hat Evility from Fuka, then put someone with Prinny Instructor in the same squad as them. This will give all of those other characters 100% more XP, Mana and Class Proficiency.
The other two common Evilities aren’t as great as the first one, though, as Sardine Supremacy increases the characters ATK stat by 50% for three turns, as well as fully heal their HP and SP. This isn’t that bad, but you will need a health stock of sardines in your inventory to utilize it to its fullest. Tyrant increases the stats of equipped weapons by 30%, which might sound nice on paper, but the boost isn’t really all that good and it only works on weapons, plus it costs six slots.

Trivia¶
- Valvatorez is a huge fan of sardines, as he actually eats them raw for their nutrients and for their blood, since his promise was to not drink human blood.
