Description |
|
Laharl is the main character from Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, the first game that started it all. He attempts to inherit the title of Overlord after the death of his father, King Krichevskoy. Laharl is quite the typical demon, as he is arrogant and self-centered. He is weak to voluptuous women, as they cause him pain. |

Battle¶
In order to recruit Laharl into your party, you need to purchase the DLC for Disgaea 5 and complete all three maps with the title, The Legend Begins.
As one of the more iconic characters from the Disgaea series, Laharl is a bit average in terms of his Disgaea 5 appearance. His best stat is clearly his ATK, so you can either fit him into using a Sword or Axe, which are two of his three best weapons. While he has an A weapon mastery in Fists, he is lacking good SPD, the other stat needed for that weapon. His unique Evility, Overlord’s Dignity, becomes a bit useless later on, once you start delving into the others that boost all stats.

Overload¶
Laharl’s Overload is called Atrocious Prince, which will attack all units within five panels of him. This may seem like a good Overload, but there are others that attack the whole map, so this one seems a bit weak in comparison. It’s not too bad, though, as it does attack in a decent range, but it does inflict damage on all units within that range, so it includes allies.
Evilities¶
Laharl’s unique Evility is called Overlord’s Dignity, which increases his stats by 10% for each unit he defeats. This is great as you’re going through the story, but once you reach the endgame portions, you’re likely going to already have 100% stats from other Evilities, essentially making it useless. Strong Personality is a nice Evility, though, especially if you use a lot of unique skills, since it will boost their damage by 20%. Gaze of Supremacy isn’t too useful in the endgame, as you will want to be defeating enemies in a single hit, but it can be something you want should you unlock Laharl to use in the main story. Lastly, Legendary Strength can be great to use in conjunction with something like Loner Power, which increases stats by 50% if that is the only ally on the map.

Trivia¶
- Laharl is pained to be around voluptuous women, which is why he has no problem with Etna and Flonne.
- Disgaea 5 is the first Disgaea game where Laharl didn’t appear in either the main story or some kind of side story.
