Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance

Fairy

By
Jarrod Garripoli
Portrait Description
Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance Screenshot These fairies carry lanterns that are bigger than their bodies. Even though they’re young, they can use magic, but prefer support roles rather than attacking. They are bothered by the fact that their worried fathers turns into Mana so they can hide inside the lanterns.

The Fairy will be unlockable in Episode 5, when a quest called Small Friend appears in the Quest Shop. Simply turn a Fairy Dust to complete it. Looking at the whole set that the Fairy brings to the table, they really don’t seem like they add much to a team. They are definitely not physical monsters, as evidenced by their low ATK aptitude, plus they seem a bit weak defensively, since their DEF and HP stats are pretty low. However, they are good casters and the fact that they regenerate SP, thanks to their unique Evility, they can most likely just continue nuking enemies without having to worry about becoming useless in the long run. Some of their unique skills can inflict Shrink, which is always a plus, but you may want to give them some elemental spells to help boost their damage output.

Evilities

The Fairy’s unique Evility, Magic Creation, allows them to recover 10% of their max SP at the end of the turn. This effectively means that they will likely never run out of SP, so they could be slinging spells all the time. Despite that, though, it’s not exactly a thrilling Evility that adds much to the table. Sleep Powder gives the unit a 50% chance to inflict sleep when attacking normally. Sleep can be useful in some circumstances, but attacking them will knock a unit that was put to sleep, so it isn’t that useful. Staff Guard increases your staff resistance by 20%, but there’s an Innocent that does the same thing and doesn’t waste Evility slots.

Generate Pain makes it so 50% of the damage you take is recovered as SP. You really shouldn’t be using SP that much that you need this Evility at all, especially if you are using the unique Evility already. Blessing Bell will allow your allies to fully recover whenever they level up. This could be extremely useful in some circumstances, but it’s kind of a waste in the long run. Mind Break makes it so that 10% of the damage you deal with an attack is also dealt to the enemy’s SP. This might be useful in some situations, but it doesn’t really seem to do much for you, other than potentially draining an opponent’s SP, making it so they can’t use special skills.
