Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance

Orc

By
Jarrod Garripoli
Portrait Description
Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance Screenshot They are relatively strong, and have a rough temperament. Although they’re small, they don’t quiver in fear against much larger opponents. They are strict about hierarchies, and always follow the orders of their superiors. The absence of ranks in squads bothers them.

The Orc is unlockable once you reach Episode 2, when a quest titled Orc Pride appears in the Quest Shop. To complete it, you need to simply hand in any item. The Orc is not a bad monster unit, considering it’s one of the first ones you unlock in the game. It has decent ATK and DEF aptitudes, making it a good unit to put on the frontlines and once you manage to level it up to get its last unique skill, you will see it is a coveted 3x3 one. These 3x3 skills are great because the best leveling up spots tend to contain enemies in a 3x3 formation. Outside of its stats and aptitudes, though, there’s not much else that makes the Orc a fantastic unit, though, as their Evilities are nothing special.

Evilities

The Orc’s unique Evility, Group Strategy, increases his stats by the number of allies within 2 panels x5%. So, the more allies you have near the Orc, the better they will be. However, this can only max out at 60% and there are much better stat-raising Evilities you unlock later. Amnesic Blast gives the unit with it a 50% chance to inflict amnesia when executing normal attacks. This ailment basically makes it so units cannot use special skills, if they have it on them, which can be useful at some stages in the game, but wasting slots on this isn’t something you want to do. Axe Guard increases axe resistance by 20%, but there’s an Innocent that can do the same thing, so you don’t really need it.

Toady increases the unit’s attack by 20% when they are adjacent to a higher level ally. Note that they have to be a higher level ally, as if they are equal or lower in level, then this Evility won’t trigger. Mass Psyche increases the unit’s stats by the number of allies on the map x3%. If you plan on using a lot of units, this could be a good Evility, but there are better stat-increasing ones out there. Boar Charge increases the unit’s attack by 50%, but it decreases their accuracy by 30%. This can be a double-edged sword, as the max accuracy for any attack will be 70%, but you do get a boost in your attack. However, Christo’s unique Evility will negate the accuracy negative on this, so this isn’t a bad Evility to have on a character.
