This page details where to find Hreidmar’s Cursed Armor and how to remove the curse, thereby upgrading it to Hreidmar’s Blessed Armor. You’ll need to destroy five Jotun Blight areas (which count as artifacts in the open world). In the process you’ll receive a Motsognir’s Clarity rune for each destroyed blight, which can be applied to Hreidmar’s Cursed Armor to upgrade it to Blessed.
Where to Find Motsognir’s Clarity Runes¶
If you try to use Hreidmar’s Cursed Armor in the state you found it, it will slowly kill you over time. You’ll need to complete five Jotun Blight artifacts to obtain a Motsognir’s Clarity rune from each, then apply these to each armor piece to upgrade each Hreidmar’s Cursed Armor piece to Hreidmar’s Blessed Armor. There’s one Jotun Blight in Gullnamar, three in Svaladal, and one in Vangrinn. Keep in mind that when you destroy the last cursed skull symbol, you’ll still need to loot the Motsognir’s Clarity rune, which will be left in its place.
How to Complete the Gullnamar Jotun Blight - North of Grenhellir Shelter¶
This Jotun Blight can be found southwest of Gomull-Bru, just to the northeast of the synchronization point. Alternatively, you can reference the location as north of the Grenhellir Shelter.
You’ll find the first cursed skull symbol near the centre of the blight, and the others are easy enough to find from there. However, we’ve included a gif below to show you exactly where to look.
How to Complete the Svaladal Jotun Blight - East of Jordegyr Shelter¶
This Jotun Blight can be found directly east of Jordegyr Shelter, or just west of the Stor Mylna raid site. You can also reference it as northwest of the Jordber Shelter.
This one can be a bit more difficult to complete than the others, especially at night. We’ve covered the first three cursed skull symbols below, but the fourth is somewhat harder to find, since it’s located behind a tall statue which is barely visible.
Once you’ve got the first three skulls, position yourself in front of the stone pillar with an inscription on it, then follow the path around to the left of it for the last two skulls, as shown in the gif below.
How to Complete the Svaladal Jotun Blight - Southeast of Eitri¶
This Jotun Blight is located in the south of Svaladal, near the borders to Gullnamar and Vangrinn, or just southeast of Eitri.
The visibility here is far better than it was at the previous Jotun Blight, making this one much easier if you know exactly where to look. You’ll need to break some ice barriers to reach two of the skulls, as shown in the gif below.
How to Complete the Svaladal Jotun Blight - Northeast of Jordegyr Shelter¶
This Jotun Blight can be found northeast of the Jordegyr Shelter, as shown on the map below.
This one involves a bit of swimming to get to one of the cursed skull symbols, but other than that it’s relatively easy to complete once you know where to go. Be sure to use Odin’s Sight when you’re under the water to detect the correct path and reveal the structure of your surroundings. You’ll need to break some ice to resurface in the correct spot, as shown in the gif below.
How to Complete the Vangrinn Jotun Blight - North of Hodda Shelter¶
This is the only Jotun Blight in the Vangrinn region, and the last one required to complete your collection of Motsognir’s Clarity runes. You’ll find it just north of the Hodda Shelter.
This one can be a little tricky if you don’t know exactly where to climb to reach the last cursed skull symbol. It’s on top of a rock near the centre of the area, but most of the rock is covered in ice. There are a few spots where you can climb up however, as shown in the gif below.
