How to Start the Blame and Sail Settlement Quest in Ravensthorpe¶
This quest can begin at any time when Eivor enters the longhouse, while Sigurd is present at Ravensthorpe.
Judge Holger or Gudrun?¶
Eivor will walk in on a dispute between Holger and Gudrun. Randvi asks Eivor to oversee the dispute and come to a judgement about who is right and who is wrong. Although Eivor is uncomfortable with this now that Sigurd is back, Randvi insists that Eivor should do it while Sigurd refuses.
The dispute is just like the one in Mane and Tail, in that Holger has taken something that didn’t belong to him for the purposes of his art, but he insists that he has only improved it. In this instance, the thing he has taken is a sail from Gudrun’s shipyard.
You will have the opportunity to hear both sides and make a judgement thereafter. However, the judgement won’t matter as Sigurd enters and scolds Eivor for presuming to take his place. Sigurd will issue a harsh judgement on Holger, demanding that he pay the value of 30 sails. Even Gudrun is upset by this, but Sigurd won’t back down.
Whether you support Sigurd’s judgement or not won’t matter to the outcome. As Jarl, he overrules what you say and Holger must suffer the punishment.
