This page details all you need to know about The Poor Fellow-Solider settlement quest in Ravensthorpe, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
How to Start The Poor Fellow-Soldier in AC Valhalla¶
This quest begins immediately after The Letter. The mysterious Poor-Fellow soldier of Christ has requested that Eivor meet them in Aethelnay, a small village in the northwest of Hamtunscire.
When you arrive in Aethelnay a cutscene will begin, in which Eivor asks a local about where he might find the person he’s looking for. Without knowing anything about who he’s looking for, Eivor resorts to resting nearby to see what might come up. After some time, Eivor hears the voice of King Aelfred, who has pledged himself to daily tasks in the village for a time. When Aelfred suggests a walk, follow him.
During the walk Aelfred reveals to Eivor that he is Grand Maegester Aelfred, The Father, but that he has been working to destroy the Order of Ancients from within. War with the Danes delayed that plan, but Eivor’s assistance secured the destruction of the order. Now that it is destroyed, Aelfred provides Eivor with a key to his study, which can be found at The Old Minster in Wincestre.
The quest will end after the conversation with Aelfred, but you’re not done yet. You won’t be able to fast travel away from the area until you run around for a while, as the end credit music plays. You can use this time to visit the site where Ubba died, where he can still be found in the battlefield southeast of Aethelnay. If you’ve killed all other members of the Order of Ancients at this point, you’ll also unlock the Disorder of the Ancients trophy.
When you’re ready, return to Ravensthorpe and speak with Hytham to receive a reward in the form of Thor’s Cape.
